Since you were judicious with the amount of color you added, you still retained the feel of the earlier Seasons decks but modified them with just the right pops of color. These decks are definitely among my most eagerly anticipated decks. C'mon, Alex, just release them already! :)

As expected, perfect design choices Alex. Having been one of very few people to see these in their original form several months ago, I can say that the judicious addition of the color is spot on and brings a beautiful new dimension to these.

I will of course be demanding many, uh, "review samples" of these as soon as possible.

Would you ever re-release Primavera and Seronda with color accents such as green and orange on the back? Looks great!

Here are some final shots of Verana. As promised these summer decks will compliment the winter with a gold accent. Our iconic boxes are made to work with previous decks as well.

Just fabulous, Alex! I can't wait to be able to pledge for these along with that spectacular display case. Any thoughts of making a six deck version for an all aspects visual delight?

That would be pretty neat! I think I 'll be having a collector's box but I'm not sure if I'll be doing something as big as 6 decks though.

I need your guys opinion on one last thing. This is something that I absolutely love about the set but it is something that I feel people might have strong feelings about. The Seasons set is about emphasizing the change in design that this deck goes through over time, from the colors to the designs. I decided that it would make most sense if the winter deck expressed true duality with the summer set by being the only deck in the series with a reverse pip orientation. This would essentially make the winter deck a lefty-deck. It doesn't affect anything related to handling, cardistry, or magic, but it is different.

Image

I just wanted to run it past you guys really quick to see if this is something that would really turn you on/off. It makes so much sense to me to have the pips this way but if you guys would rather it not, I can always make a quick change.

Thanks for your input as always guys!

I'm a lefty AND enjoy breaking design rules so in my book - go for it. :)

(Color change effects between the two decks could be a problem for magicians using these decks, but that's pretty specific and small problem for what I'm guessing is just a small part of the potential buyers.)
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

The revsered pips feel weird to me, but at the same time I like the carry through on the theme. And they look great! I say do it.

Had I been better at reverse fans, I'd say go for it. But I'm not, and I do love fanning the decks I buy, so I have to vote no :|

I know left handed cards exist, but I never understood that. Perhaps I'm an ignorant 'righty', but I tried it and holding it the same way in the left hand is not a problem unless you have a large hand of cards or small hands. If this is an actual lefty need then it may help you get a few more lefty backers as well for functionality.

However, you may lose some casual righty supporters. Some collectors won't care, but breaking with tradition is a BIG deal to some people. I also think it just looks weird. I'm in no matter what though!

I would be careful though as I really don't see much potential for a real upside here for you and the project, far greater to lose interest than gain it here. From a business decision I would stay away from this, but it's an interesting artistic idea.

Will I still buy them either way? No doubt. Do I like them better non-lefty? YES. I wouldn't change it.

I really like the idea and also the reasoning behind why you are choosing do it. I think it is very interesting that you are developing that type of narrative over the whole series. The only rub for me is that the second deck or the black deck in the first pair didn't have this. It seems a bit out of place, but then again that might be a good thing. If there had been something "off" with the first deck (that you had planned in advance) and then book ended the series with this I would say awesome go all in.

90% Yes as it creates variation in the overall design of the series.
10% No as it might feel loose ended

Overall the design is awesome! So either way these are going to be a home run.

I love every part of the design but the reversed Indexes just don't look good in my opinion. I would still buy it, because the most important part for me is the back design and not the faces but I would prefer it to be like the others.

I don't like the reversed indexes. I would still buy it, only for the collection because I would not play with it, but I'm pretty sure that the market for a reversed indexes deck is a lot smaller than a traditional deck. I love everything else with the design!

@IAmTheChin - I agree with Jackson the problem is simple. Put the indices in the top left and top right. That is standard. You have the room, but keep the suit indicator on the right. That is your theme. Don't change the courts in any way.

Very interesting idea...though I would like to see how it looks with Sprouts suggestion of quad pips. I did the crazy sideways quad pips on Deco and that didn't stop it from selling out.

Regardless of your choice it won't really matter to your bottom line. You might lose perhaps 5 collectors in the world that are too curmudgeon-ey to buy some because you "didn't stick to tradition darn it!" This deck will do amazingly well because it is thoughtfully designed, crafted with great attention and is simply beautiful. You have NO concerns, really. If folks on Kickstarter don't come in droves then we collectively need to throw up our hands and all quit, because the end times will have certainly come for card collecting.

I don't like the reversed pips. I actually use cards for playing, and being a righty, to fan my cards out same as usual and see no indices would be very weird. Go all 4 corners if you want, that is fine, but don't leave out the usual corners.

While I don't mind the courts facing the other way, I really dislike the reverse pips, and honestly 4 cornered pips would like the cards look too busy. There really isn't a need for your design to go for the reverse pips, it comes off a little gimmicky and tacky

Lol it was worth a shot! I think there is enough feedback to keep these pips in regular orientation. With this much of a split vote among card collector's who are a bit more open minded I'm sure the passing KS pledger would be a bit less forgiving

Thanks for your thoughts guys!

I couldn't agree more with Paul here. This deck is such a great peace of art that it'll sell without a problem either way.

I really think the lefty deck is a cool idea. and would make the deck even more interesting. I vote yes. But will buy either way.
