This does look nice. It looks to me like the Kickstarter designers are forcing the big box boys to up their ante. This does have strong hints of Fed 52/Volstead influence. Boardwalk Papers is another example.

 Give the guy a little credit. Calaveras and Oracle are amazing decks and even though the Volstead back might need a little work, I'm confident this new deck will just as kickass. Can't wait to see more from both decks.

Chris is like UUSI to me, his decks are always great, you get them in a timely manner and always get your money's worth. He's right up there with the best designers.

Does anyone see the word "whiskey", or is it just me?

Yep. Whiskey is there.
The word above it looks like it could be snoot (as in a snoot full of whiskey).

Pretty sure the title will be 52 Proof, its below on the tuckbox. What i do not understand is why there is a trademark there, unless ellusionist wants to produce their own whiskey now?! But that wouldnt be Since 1902 would it ?

A google search turns up nothing significant, but a 52 proof whiskey is pretty weak aint it.

52 proof is only 26% alcohol... nope, not whiskey.

I'm kinda suprised how literally some of y'all are taking this...

obviously no whisky is 52 proof, it's just a play on the number of cards in a deck. :geek:

Now, maybe they should have been a little more clever, and gone with 104 proof, which is pretty kick-ass, but not completely out of the believeable range for small batch whisky. And those "in the know" would still get the 52 reference (i.e. 52% alcohol). :ugeek:

***EDIT: see Glenfarclas 104 Scotch, and Tomatin 15 Yr Highland 104 Proof Limited Edition, for example***

Definitely like the look of the tease! As stated by others, reminiscent of Fed 52.

I googled a little further and found a whiskey bar in Detroit that's been around since 1902:
One of the oldest bars in Detroit, Nancy Whiskey has been in business since 1902. The bar offers close to 10 different varieties of Irish whiskey, including Jameson and Powers that are both aged for 12 years. The house Irish whiskey is Tullamore Dew. At Nancy’s there’s an age-old tradition: if someone is new to the bar the barkeep will pour a little taste of this whiskey for him. Located close to the former Tiger Stadium in Detroit, people from all over the world come back time and time again for the good conversation and the warm welcome.
Does E have any affiliation in Detroit? Team-up maybe??

Most cask strength Scotches are in that neighborhood or even higher.

I prefer Whisky, without the "e" and at cask strength, if I can afford it. Laphroiag Cask strength, is 55%, if I remember correctly...

So, at 52%, I'd be happy.
