Really excited about a couple of recent acquisitions. A 1933 Chicago World's Fair deck in fine shape (there's a smudge on the cellophane that showed up in the flash). The cards are still sealed and the gold gilded edges look great. Also, a double deck 1939 New York World's Fair set with a really nice silver foil box. Both decks are still sealed and have silver gilded edges.

I was extremely lucky to find both of these at great prices. :) Now I hope I can be as lucky on some opened ones!

I finally got the uncut of that Argentine miniature Spanish-suited deck with the comic-strip characters:

The Blonde kid would be Dennis the Menace.
Thank you,

Truly amazing find! It's so nice to see people actually paying more attention to the vintage and antique decks markets once again. I came from there exclusively until a year ago, and look at the mess I got myself in the last couple of days.

Oh, well - off to take my lumps in the "CardLauncher" thread. I suppose it's almost a tribute to my mental stability that the wife had us both laughing to tears here this morning. Not laughing at anything mind you except how darned trusting I am of people and what they tell me - like the software vendor that said "it's ready to go" two weeks ago and we beat it until it was black & blue and still found at least a half dozen MAJOR bugs once it shifted into production mode.

As I've already stated elsewhere, nobody is more disappointed than I am, but realistically, $4000 in under 60 minutes equates to about $100,000 a day - not that it's even realistic to expect it to keep up that pace, but - that's what we did in the first hour before I threw in the towel and called the software vendor and had them reset all the campaigns. Oddly enough, they appear to be available this morning, even though I am quite certain that the payments processing is turned off. I'll make an announcement "over there" - back to your regularly scheduled "Look what I added..." thread.

Seriously, though - NICE FIND!

All I can say for this one is damn!

Jackson wants $75 for two "uncut tucks", which is a flat, unassembled tuck without cards in it.

Dale Mathis sold these - admittedly an Early Bird, but two for $50:
20140816_191801_1.jpg
I also got the world's first 3D v2 (with Sapphire jeweled) decks to show off at 52+Joker just I'm case Dale doesn't make it. Dale tells me that it is the only one outside of his lab in Las Vegas. Take a look at this baby:

No. If you look closely you can see it is concentric circles, not the spiral a spring would be.

Yep, yep - designed to fit in the same frame his v1 decks do - with that fancy blue/red/white lighting and Amber Rix's dice as well optionally. I need one of those, now. Didn't think I did, but now that I have these?

Before I forget - nice Treasury deck, badpete69?

I had a couple of things came in yesterday but didn't get to the mailbox. First, an earlier Pneumatic deck (for those that don't know the history, those had a herringbone pattern impressed into the back that works very much like what we now call "magic finish"
20140816_192920_1.jpg
20140816_192908_1.jpg
May well be the first time I have seen a Queen smile...

Next, I found a Lo Scarabo deck that is sort of like an American Indian taror:

I guess my days of playing card deck collecting has begun. I doubt I'll ever have a wall/room of pretty unopened tucks since I plan on opening the decks I get and using them for card playing and cardistry (yup - started down that road too). My first KS backed deck arrived today - Bicycle Elegance by CPC - the deck itself was not padded, but it was shipped in a padded envelope and arrived undamaged. I don't have a camera with me, or I'd include pics.

Got a small package in today from Kings Wild fulfillment and my first thoughts were, "Da fuq is this?" Cause I didn't order anything from them recently, no Hive, no Covil War ltd set so I figured, maybe something sent to me by accident. Open it up and nope, it's definitely something I ordered, from CARC. My Gnostic triple pack. Tucks are quite beautiful, my crappy cellphone doesn't do them justice. Very heavy material used for the tuck, incredibly sturdy material, probably the thickest I've seen that I can remember anyway. And when you open them up, geeze Louise! DO NOT have a bright light shining at said time. You have been warned. The whole interior is lined with very bright gold foil. Cards themselves fan very nicely, even I was able to attain a perfect fan straight out of the box which is something I can just about never do. Unfortunately though, faro shuffling and riffle shuffling isn't quite as effortless. They do have some minor touches to the courts, overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Side note, got #227/1000 for the ltd red deck.

I really should use my DSLR more often, really I'm not this bad a photographer (though nowhere near as good as Volantangel)
Image

You can kinda see how thick the material for the tuck is here

Nice! So out of the three, which one would you recommend? I'm leaning towards the Rose gold. Both blue and red's colors don't seem to pop as much as Rose gold.

They call it rose gold but really the back is just a black and gold color, doesn't appear rosy at all to me. I didn't open the red pack, but between black and blue I gotta say I like the blue back much more.

Pic for reference:

But then again, I may be a bit biased towards blue...

But it's not two things at once. First you make a fan, then you take a picture with the hand that doesn't have cards in them ;)

The picture with the Spades, Joker and Queen of hearts makes it look like the cards have a smooth finish. Is that the case?
