New to designing-- All Advice Appreciated!
Hello everyone,
I have been working to create a custom deck of playing cards that represents my typical art style, but still in the familiar Bicycle frame, with a slightly tweaked color scheme, and completely redesigned pips, back design, and tuck box,
At 15, I suspect I have a lot to learn, so any tips on formatting and colors, or anything about how to manage a successful Kickstarter would be super appreciated! As you might gather from my pips, Lee McKenzie's two Empire decks were a large inspiration.
Any words at all would wonderful-- thank you!

Re: Phase II Playing Cards-- All Advice Appreciated!
Welcome to the forums! It can be a bit harsh here at times, fair warning, but everyone means well. I like the king, and the style's definitely unique. I think the queen is a bit too expansive, and would prefer a red index. I'd also like to see the Joker's feet but think he looks pretty good. Are you planning a reveal? Maybe use a red that matches the heart more for the courts. I think you have a lot of potential though. Don't forget a theme, and make sure you have the time to manage a project between school and clubs and stuff. Good luck

Thank you a lot for your advice--the index idea is one I think would be good to incorporate, color coding them as such. I do have a reveal planned for the card the Joker holds. I will try to post more pictures when the test deck comes from MPC-- I technically have very card's image done.

@wildwildcat - You have potential. I like fat court cards and fat suit indicators. YOur back needs some work though. I see your going with a mirrored back. I think it needs more detail...

Thanks for your thoughts! Could you clarify on the "single element back" you are referring to? I am new to a lot of this lingo, so it might just be my problem. Is it because the picture lacks depth, or is it something else entirely?
Pardon,

Are all the courts people you know?
I would suggest to be careful in merging the courts. You can clearly see where they join. Integrate them mire seamlessly.

Yes, the faces are based off of friends and family, like DM's decks.Eoghann wrote:Are all the courts people you know?

I'll try to go for a smoother transition!
Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I've done some more work on the cards and I have made a trailer highlighting REDUX's different portions:

I was NOT expecting those moves. Nice! Where'd you get the sample printed? MPC? Seems to handle quite well!

@Eoghann
Yes, I got them printed by MPC-- their Linen stock is very nice, comparable or better than Bicycles-- very slippery and good for fans.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Well before we say anything about it, I would like to hear what you think about your own court ?wildwildcat wrote:@BenMorrisRains

I would agree with Sprouts1115, I think your back design needs some work.

@Jamm Pakd Cards,
I'm going to work on a card back rework, yes.
I'll try to remove most of the bold colors, so white spots in printing won't be so evident.
