I don't care if the faces are blank- I'm in based on back design and tuck alone!

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
Hey folks! Thanks for all the comments about the Boardwalk decks.
As posted above, they are now live.
They're an EPCC deck - feel very similar to the NOC v3 decks.
Faces are standard design with a custom color scheme that fits the overall deck really well.
The collector's box is similar in design/build-quality/style to other Collector Bricks we've done in the past, like for Ornates, Luxury Crowns, etc. It can be in header display mode, etc.
I've been playing with these non-stop since I got them in my hands and love them!!

Hi Sher. I did not personally design the deck, but I am a core member of the Blue Crown/HOPC staff, and am involved in the production of all decks/DVDs/etc. Thanks!

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
Actually the Brick Box is really cool! I'm guessing Alex just didn't have one with him when he did the product shots. I put the design together for the Brick Box, using the artist's main artwork, adding color, effects and subtle grunge background textures. I've had a couple samples in my storage closet for over a year now. It's good to see the rest of them are going to use!badpete69 wrote:Picked up one deck.. Also, Kevin Reylek is the man! Kevin and I have collaborated closely on every Deck I've done with HOPC / TBC. Kevin used to post on here semi-regularly, until BM Poker Mike banned him along with many others!
Thanks, Randy

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
I hope the decks doesn't look too much like the Bicycle Speakeasy deck because of the brown courts.
Also the pricing for this deck (without waiting til' December) is similar to KWs Tally Ho deck........

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
Ah, yes, the pricing, its similar indeed. It's clear that any production discount from EPCC's Asian manufacturing plants will not be passed on to the customers. However, the tuck box is fully blinged out with embossing, foil, and printing on the inside, which is one thing that makes this different from Jack$on's Tally Ho's. Also, Kevin and Randy didn't come to UC ahead of time professing to provide a lower cost deck than their previous offerings only to yank the rug out from under us and make them more expensive than their previous decks.Bikefanatic wrote:Also the pricing for this deck (without waiting til' December) is similar to KWs Tally Ho deck........
What I'd like to know is what the print run is for the Boardwalk Papers deck. Given that they have 200 custom brick boxes available, that's at least 2400 decks right there. Is this a typical limited print run of about 5000 decks, or will this be an unlimited deck?

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
These are like a stereotypical T11 deck to me. The box looks so good, the cards make for somewhat of a disappointment when taken out of it. This is particularly due to the grossly overstated back design on the back of the box, which the monochrome of the actual back design can never live up to. Add in standard courts, and these are an easy pass for me.

Ordered a brick. I thought shipping was a bit high at almost $15.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

The six-pack is good deal. My total with shipping was under $61.00 or a tad over $10 per deck.Bikefanatic wrote: Also the pricing for this deck (without waiting til' December) is similar to KWs Tally Ho deck........

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
International shipping was very reasonable I thought.
$25 for a brick to the UK seems fair.
Nice looking deck. Nice theme.
With regards to savings on printing costs by having decks manufactured in Taiwan. I can see what people are saying however, we are comparing a standard deck of USPCC playing cards printing costs versus EPCC or LPCC printed deck. The actual price to print the decks is no doubt cheaper than USPCC costs. + you can print a much smaller run. I think the extra costs to push these decks up to the USPCC price bracket is the additions of thinks like, thick card stock for tuck boxes, foil lined tuck boxes, perforated deck seals etc etc. I haven't seen to many USPCC printed decks that sell for the $7-8 price point have these extras/ additional features.
I'm not praising the EPCC / LPCC decks. I'm not slating the USPCC decks. Just trying to point out the reason that these decks are priced as they are. I think the cost is reasonable for what you get.

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
TBC has always a real non-pumped up international shipping cost.
I will wait for them to arrive at the magic stores where i can get them together with other decks.

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
I sent them a message about the shipping I paid in the U.S. It turns out that although The Blue Crown is in New York, the shipping is out of California. Since I live on the east coast and the calculated shipping is strictly by weight, it was high. I had stated in my original email that a flat rate box would be cheaper and they said they would use that and refund any extra shipping cost I paid. Very responsive!

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
I received a credit from the Blue Crown for shipping after asking about a flat rate box. My order with them originally had a shipping charge of $35.20 but they credited me $23.90 making the final shipping cost $11.30. That was much more to my liking. I suggest any U.S. buyers contact them quickly after ordering to see about shipping options if the price seems unusually high.

Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
...they took 2 years to make the design of the boxes, the back, the jokers and to swap the colors to the standard Tally-ho/bicycle courts?
the design is very nice tho

Hi Vasta. In most cases, yes, we'll do that. Just send an email to either site with or order numbers from each site immediately after placing your orders so that we can notify the warehouse ASAP to combine them.

Maybe I'm missing something but if I ask to combine after I order, I'd have already paid twice for shipping.. I'm wondering if I can combine orders to save on shipping.Reylek wrote:Hi Vasta. Re: Boardwalk Papers by the Blue Crown
Yup, Voltangel is correct.
We can also handle a combined order manually - going through the site is just a little easier to make sure inventory is handled correctly, etc.
If anyone has any specific questions about a potential order, an existing order, etc then emailing us directly is always the very best way to get the response you need.
