I found another art collaboration deck in Poland yesterday and placed an order here http://preorder.goverdose.com —it's $35 US or €25. They also have a FB page at Facebook.com/Goverdose and on Twitter at the same name. Looks VERY nice! Has anyone else heard of this group? Mind you it IS a pre-order and expect to take a few weeks after that before you get it. I invited Jakub, the groups founder here...

Hello Guys!
First of all thank you for invitation Unitedcardists.com, I'm honored, it's great place. Thank you for your interest in our - DECK, this is our 6th project but this one is in form of deck of cards. Our earlier projects were "just pictures" around topic we chose. This one is different.

Interview about the art collaboration & deck:

Can you give us a bit of background about the collective/project being featured? 

Collective has been born a couple of years ago in Poland. One sparkling idea lead a  group of designers to the first release in 2008. Goverdose means “graphic overdose” and it’s the best way to describe our digital collective.


What are your plans for future releases? When will the next one be available? 

Definitely new releases in different shapes, we are still shaping our collective and recruiting new people. Thing that we don’t want is to reduce ourselves only to online exhibitions because this is what every collective does. We have a vision for the future and ideas how to encourage more people but it may be too early to reveal them. At the moment group is preparing new online exhibition Goverdose V3 which will be released very soon.


What is unique about your collective/project? 

There’s nothing random in this project. We’ve got our targets and inspirations. First of all we want to promote Polish design and our style, that’s why our group include only Polish designers. We want to stand out against other collectives such as SlashThree or Depthcore and present us as strong and one of the leading nations in the world of digital abstract. 


How can digital artists get involved and contribute to future releases? 

We are not recruiting people from outside of Poland. It’s just a part of our philosophy at the moment but it may change in the future. It’s shame to turn down some of the big names that are willing to join us but it’s too early for international expansion. 


How do you select artists to contribute to each release? 

This process is very similar to the other art collectives. Once when the exhibition theme is chosen every group member can participate. We are discussing and feedback internally before release. Pieces that wont meet our standards are not included in the final exhibition.


What benefits are there for the artists involved in the collective/project? 

One of the biggest benefits is international exhibition and publications. Our previous release “VVinners” nailed a huge amount of publications and features 

across the press and internet. Because every member has a voice which is important we are all learning from each other by advising how to improve our work during the process of creation.


Do you have any favourite releases or individual artwork/artists to date? 

Of course we do however we are all equal, that’s why we wont highlight any particular names or artworks here. Let’s people judge us and pick their favourites artists from our gang.


Is there anything else you want to tell us about your collective/project? 

 Goverdose has been just reactivated and it’s pretty young compared to the other collectives but we will give you good reason to hear about us more and more with every release.

Faces look great but I'm not convinced by this type of decks (art with pips added). There is no consistency. What the authors/designers want to say ? What is the link / theme ? It's not clear for me...

Not my mug of mead, but thanks for sharing anyway. I need my collaboration decks to have at least some transformation deck elements to it, I think BRC pulled that off quite nicely.

According to their fb page, they are hoping to get the decks in this week.

I had opened a paypal dispute and the guy immediately contacted me and all that. Supposedly in the next few weeks we should get them. Will send him another note just to confirm
