Will he mess up again and have to bump it up again to 2,000? Who knows, but adding 50% more to a limited add-on is not good. Why is he trying to piss off his old backers while trying to please the people that just came on? Doesn't make sense. If people missed it, they missed it. I've missed plenty of limited add-ons, but I don't go whining to the creator and make him change a print run. Weird decision.
How is it shady? He let everyone know beforehand and even asked people for their opinion. As an "old backer", I'm not pissed off! I really don't give a flapjack about "Limitedness", especially when a Limited edition deck is only $13. Compare that price to GET MADE!, Tenebre, 6-deck Day of the Dead, etc... all their Limited decks were $15+. This one is cheaper, AND it has a different back - not just a recolor.
I agree with your second point - If people missed it, they missed it. But I'm looking forward to the Black Ink decks that I don't even care anymore lol.

Maybe you can do something with special numbered seals for the original 1000 and a different seal for the additional 500? That way they're still the same print run, but the first 1000 are numbered and special. I personally don't mind about it increasing to 1500 but I know some people like the original 1000 limit because it's more exclusive, so this might be a compromise?
+1 This would be really good. However, won't people be incentified to also get the 500-seal decks as well? For complete coverage's sake.
