Here you have the mock-up of the tuck box and cards. Looking good. The back is nice IMO.

Dear friends,

thank you so much for depicting here my very first "serious" work. I have been working for a long time in this idea and fortunately it will be real soon.

There are some things still to be arranged about the deck, but I am preparing some images and also a deep story about the deck, the inspiration and the creator (myself) that will be pleased to share with you soon.

In the meanwhile, feel free to make your comments and to spread the voice about it. Many of you are good friends for a long time and I feel UC as my home, even having in mind I have been a bit disconnected due to work overload.

Best wishes to all and thanks for your positive comments.

I see on your hearts you're going with a dark red and a light blue or cyan. Can't wait to see the other color combinations. By the way, your box screams for embossing. I'm sure we won't find any errors in your deck. We will just watch and ride the wave...

Congrats on your Deck Max!! I know it's been a long and arduous process, but the hard work shows through. It looks great! I'm glad the response from others is positive as well.

I'll definitely order some when they go live!

Thanks, Randy

Thank you! I am not sure if there will be any error but let me promise you I am leaving my life in every small detail. Otherwise, I am a newbie on this so any mistake could be possible :)

PS: It will probably be debossing instead of embossing...

And you know it more than any other as you have been the one who has helped me all this time, since middle of 2012 when the deck was almost finished and nobody seemed to be interested on it. You have been so valuable in all this process that this deck is, in fact, what it is thanks to you too. Thank you my friend.

Max, you and your site has always been a great asset to the playing card community. Its only fitting that you come out with a custom deck of your own. If Randy's been helping you with your deck, then I have no doubt its going to be a winner and from what I've seen so far, it looks great. Keep up the good work!

Nice, I wonder if blue would be available.

Thanks for your words, @sinjin7. Randy's advice has been very important along the process. The design process is sometimes complicated and having an experience hand to ask for help is great.

No blue because this is not red... But metal :)

Thanks a lot!!!!

The deck has been made thinking of Magic, so it will have some surprises for magic tricks, thinking also about using it with standard rider back decks, that was something I wanted to do from the very beginning.

I will be able to show you some images soon. I am checking and correcting some small issues in the artwork.

Can't wait to share them with you.

Keep in touch!

Hello again,

I will be posting here some updates about the deck before the launch and, of course, some images.

Being my first design, and being Bicycle, I imagine I am going through almost every mistake it is possible to commit.

Here you have the ace of spades IN EXCLUSIVE. Although it is a Bicycle Rider back deck, I decided to design my own AoS. I didn't want to make just the Bicycle classic AoS and e it something different.

I used my own font for the Bicycle logo and I was required by USPCC to change it to the font they have registered so this is the final aspect. I hope you like it.

It's beginning to look REALLY good, Max! I can't wait until you get these out on the market. Are we looking at funding them some time soon, I hope?

That Ace looks awesome, Max. Really like the textures you're using, I was getting tired of the Photoshop Chrome that has been permeating these style decks.

Thank you Mike!

I think the deck will be launched trough Kickstarter in September/October, but it will be one of those campaigns with everything arranged before the launch....

We need to decide about the final editions available and also about any add-on (would you like to have a metal coin?)

Thank you Widdee!

I was making many experiments with that (including that chrome you mention) and being the "Texture series" I wanted to make something different, something "realistic", something magical....

Re: Metal Deck by Max [Preview]

Before showing other cards, I would like to share with you the numbered cards...

I think they could be in some way controverted because I allowed myself a license to change something on them. When I thought in this deck, I thought in magic, and I wanted to give the cards some kind of magic touch. For that reason I decided that some of the pips in the numbered cards would have "disappeared" in some way, but as taking them out from the deck would be too confusing, I decided to use the shadows of the absent pips.

This is the result.

I know this one-way design could be misunderstood by some of you, and I am even strongly thinking about leaving them or just using the same pips in the whole card, but before taking the decision, I would like to know your opinion.

Anyway, even with all the pips identical, the cards would be one-way, due to the design itself with shadows and embossing, but it would be obviously more subtle...

Let the controversy begin. I disagree with MagikFingerz. Max just stated this is an art deck. He can do whatever he wants. Is the deck functional? I would say yes and with some big ass bolts on the top left corner badge... Let's see the courts. I'm curious if you going with some "Traditional" courts with a terminator theme. "I'll be back"

I don't see any mention of this being an "art deck", although technically all decks can be described as such. Max is of course free to do whatever he wants, and he will. But he asked for opinions ;)

Now I want to watch Terminator while smoking that secret stash of yours, sprouts...
