im not sure, but his email inferred that there was issues with it, so maybe was easier to have it taken down, than fixed - especially since so close to launch

All a KS creator have to do to is put in their time zone then people to use google to match their own time zone.

Sweet, I got in the $11 EB just when an open spot came up. Added 3 more decks - cheaper than getting the 4-deck pledge.

I'm gonna have to find out how to get the metal seals without dropping my pledge... hmmmm

I asked if we could buy an extra metal seal.

So only the backers who paid full price count for the seal because "they're easier to keep track of"? Well that's ridiculous. A backer is a backer.

I agree. The early birds should count as part of "the first thousand backers". So, technically this is "the first thousand backers who pledge two or more decks".

It does cost less for someone to just pledge for one deck then add on others but the added cost in the tiers is for the seals. For the BBOC, I didn't care for the wax seals, I just got the red and stuck it on the back of the tuck. For these two decks, they look good on them and I like where they're placed since they're permanent which you probably can't remove them.

Actually they have made it clear that all EB pledges do not count for the metal seal. The only way to get it is to be part of a 2 deck minimum pledge. That is why I did not go for any of the EB

Like I'm sure a few people did, I ended up changing my pledge from an early bird w/ plans to add on 3 decks to a regular 4 deck pledge so I can get one of the metal seals. I suspect a few people will be using a secondary KS account so they can get more than one, and will admit this is the only time I've been tempted to open another account.

I personally think it sucks that you cant get an early bird and a metal seal but good on them to find a way to pull in a few extra dollars though by not allowing EB's to qualify. That's what capitalism is all about

Another interesting topic is that you can only choose one of your decks to have the metal seal, they will not be on all of the decks in the pledge tier. To me they look better on the unbranded deck (on the upper left side) than the Bike deck.

Well, I can certainly live without the metal seal. I didn't adhere the wax ones from the previous deck because it makes it harder to store them. I'm just not crazy about the whole idea of not counting your early birds as part of your first 1000 backers. But, it's their campaign!

Didn't care for seals on the first campaign, care even less for them now. I just find it odd how the early birds get excluded for being the first in line. Defeats the purpose of the early bird if you ask me. You're not getting a cheaper, complete deck...you're getting a cheaper deck because they took out parts to make it cheaper.

I'm also OCD enough that if I can only have the seal on one deck and not the other then I don't want it on either. *shrug*

Same. I don't really care either way, seal or no seal, but if I was getting it I'd "need" to have it on both editions.

I threw away the seals for that same reason, its more difficult to store. They're only stickers anyways, nothing special. If they actually melted wax and impressed it with a real seal, then maybe I'd pay attention, but it was only a wax sticker.

$15 seems steep for this deck, but I'm getting half a brick because I was impressed with how they ran their first campaign for the Black Book deck. They actually delivered more than what was advertised during their campaign due to the big improvements they made to their tuck box after the campaign ended.

I agree.. I really liked the last deck, and thought they did a great job on the campaign. These will be a nice addition. So I don't mind pledging for this one as well. Hope it turns out just as nice, if not, better! :D

Does anyone know, or seen hints, if they will release any other limited edition decks within this KickStarter?

As an international customer getting one deck is totally not worth it. If I want value for my Australian Dollar I always pledge for at least 4 decks, like I did here.

Yes, I pay more that if I went just for one deck but it averages out better for per deck.

I don't know if that makes sense to some of you .....

Total sense, it's a bulk discount but on a much smaller scale. Plus you'll then have extras to sell or trade for something else.

Excellent deck from Scott and Sara ("Uncommon Beat") and I managed to grab the second brick sold during my lunch break today. Kicking off a project during the day on a weekday just doesn't make good sense to me, frankly, though. All things being equal, maybe they were targeting the finish date for the weekend, I guess? It has to be - only thing that makes sense. Absolutely superb starting day, and it's all going to come together day by day!

I got the first brick. Couldn't believe I actually got something first for a change. (Now I just need a new F5 key for my keyboard at work.) I like the weekend finish date myself, mid pay week campaign endings suck.

The only alternative is to use a shipping consolidation company - all my recent pledges have been posted to Shipito to try and cut down the murder of international postage on small pledges. (I'll let you know in a year whether it's worth it :-))

The problem with buying a ship load is what to do with all those decks.... especially if you aren't so keen on the decks six months later when you actually see them in the flesh. eBay doesn't really work - as you never get back the original value except in a few rare cases, and the fees are worse than international shipping. (Only a not so completely unrelated note... I still have 8 or 9 'Revision 1' decks floating around after a brick pledge in 2011... )

One of the problem with consolodation is taxes (for me). If my value is under £100, I don't get charged any VAT. So it's often a balancing act to offset postage with keeping the value low enough to not trigger VAT.
