Wow, you really can't beat that price.

I already have a few extras of these, but if I didn't I would order

There is a limit of 1 deck.

Shipping costs twice as much as deck.

I got this email too. I though everyone has this deck already or one that looks similar to it. The silver steampunk deck is the better looking version and also shipping will come into play so not that much of a deal. If it was the Bad Robot deck then I'll consider.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."

I think i know what this really is. "Buy whatever you want and you will be able to grab Guardian deck for 2$". Becouse nobody will buy only 1 deck for entire order, this is tactical promotion , which porpose is just to force customers to make orders and buy other decks. I will say it's well made and some not very smart people will go for it.

I beg your pardon, but that makes no sense. It's perfectly possible to just buy the one.

Of course. It is entirely possible for you to buy the one single deck. However, it makes more sense to actually purchase other things at the same time.

It's a common business tactic.

(1) Vendor offers $2 Guardian deck
(2) Buyer goes to website to purchase $2 Guardian deck
(3) Looks at shipping - it's $4 to ship 1 deck => $4 / deck for shipping
(4) Buyer goes back to purchase 4 more decks.
(5) Looks at shipping - it's $6.50 priority to ship 1~5 decks => $1.3 / deck for shipping

As you can see, you save on shipping if you decide to purchase more than 1 deck. What AceOfHearts was saying is that this tactic forces people to buy multiple decks on top of the $2 Guardian deck, because it encourages you to save on shipping... when in reality, you're actually spending more money than if you just bought the 1 deck. A lot of people fall for this, but this tactic works really well in the marketing world. You see it everywhere, from big-name corporations to small stores.

I'm not a marketing person, but I've seen this business tactic in lots of places, and it's pretty apparent once you realize the trap.

EDIT*: here's the link, since no one posted it in the thread yet http://www.artofplay.com/products/bicycle-guardians" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Would have jumped in but I already have one and it's not something I'd like to have more of.
On a side note, I did jump in on the $2 Global Titans deck months back. I bought two of each color and even used the 10% discount code because I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be buying anything from Art of Play again. :D
