Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
Nice decks, Kai! I happen to have one of the "Animal Kingdom" uncuts, and it's among my favorites as far as just plain being colorful. What deck is that one with the 'inked' ladies on it? I don't recognize it either.
Playing Arts is nice, I wish they had done a 55th artist for the tuck or maybe pick one of those 52 to do the tuck? Too darned plain for such a colorful deck. As I recall British, correct? I've got a couple and I think I remember them being a bit pricey, like $20, maybe? (looking at their website, I see $21/each)

Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
Mikey its from the same playing arts deck, one of my favourites from the deck. Yea i agree its a little plain, although theres a little artwork on the back of the box. But its not expensive when you are looking at plastic cards, it became a huge factor in my pledging for this deck.

Oh, I agree - it's one that I picked out for my 2-decks per night for the 2014 52+Joker convention's late-night Poker & Blackjack suite. I've got my dice from Jerry's Nugget and 500 14g clay chips ready to rock!volantangel wrote:Mikey its from the same playing arts deck, one of my favourites from the deck. Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
Ok well this is something a little different, the ghoul note by eric duan. Strangely this deck does not photograph well, it looks like i can see through the deck into the background, or is that really happening ? What in the world did eric duan put into this deck? (damn i should have left his for april fools but its a longggg way from now )
P.s. This isnt photoshop, its a real photo

Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
@Jase Nope nothing to do with reflections ! Maybe another photo would help, but joe was v close, its basically the same idea as a double exposure but in a single shot

Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
A v long exposure with teh deck removed half way through.
(A shorter exposure might have reviealed a blur where that happened)

No lens no lens no lens !!! Well if i didnt bust so much on cards, id probably already have one. Imagine, real decks made to look like miniature decks.montecarlojoe wrote:Yeah - I was never any good with real cameras, but my sister is, and she's shown me a thing or two lol.

Re: [Volantangel] Playing Cards + Photography
I just spent several minutes looking at this thread. I really enjoy your photos. My favorite is the picture showing the backs of each of the Encarded decks. The one of the ghoul deck is really cool, too. I never would have figured out how you did that.
