Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson; Shipping complete
Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
Yep! That's the aim that all the orders shipped out and finished this week, more specifically Wednesday as I know Jackson won't sell the Sherlock stuff on his site until all the packages fulfilled. So if you haven't gotten your email notification yet, you will this week. It's an automated system so it won't miss or skip you. One the shipping label is printed for your package, you will be sent an email with a tracking number for it. That tracking number will go live in 24-48 hrs once it's in the hands of USPS.
There are some packages left that are both large and small so no order has been skipped and there's a method to Jackson's logic for fulfilment.
I know the wooden boxes are done close to the end to ensure the time to packaging them properly as no one wants any of them to get damaged. I don't have my box yet, but from the packages and the quality of the Fed 52 box, I know they'll be worth the wait and then there's more of a wait until the Independence wooden box , but one project at a time

Jackson's latest update stated that shipping notices should have all gone out by Friday. Did your check you spam folder?Becky C wrote:Very nice. Still waiting for a shipping notice here.
Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
Jackson has created a discount code for 10% off of all the Sherlock items specifically for the card forums. It's valid until Monday.
The code is: AE&UC
Mods, I hope you don't mind that I'm posting it again as I thought most users would see it more readily here than in the official company threads.

Got my shipping confirm late last night too, looking forward to them. Though with how slow the PO is around here, people ordering today will probably receive them before me.

I will save that all the Kickstarter orders will be fulfilled and sent off to the post office first. I know Jackson is committed to his backers.chach wrote:Got my shipping confirm late last night too, looking forward to them. The only items that won't be available now is the uncut sheet of playing cards. Jackson didn't order a lot and the remainder of those, after Kickstarter fulfilment, he's got in reserve for any potential Kickstarter issues. Sometimes one never knows what happens when it's in the hands of the post office. My tube is well late and apparently never left the original sort facility but yet no one knows where it is .....
@ Sher
No worries. I know Jackson sometimes has trouble accessing the UC boards so I figured I'd post it in his place.

Unfortunately Jackson ran out of coins fulfilling Kickstarter orders. They were quite popular during the Kickstarter campaign and they're being re-ordered. They will be available as soon as Jackson has some more. I know it probably doesn't help, but they turned out amazing. The black nickel is really cool, but the fine detail on the Sherlock coin is just as amazing.

Thanks, I appreciate that info, now I can stop hitting refresh and check out my order, looking forward to when the Hound coin returns

Almost hit the "Buy Now" button a few times, just can't justify the price tag of $250. They really look great and I think he did a fantastic job with them, but the price is just...ugh.jeb wrote:is anyone here going to buy that wooden displayed box ?
As far as a display box, top notch and awesome! BUT...as a collector, I buy for interest and for investment. I don't buy decks that I don't like the looks of. And I'm very cautious about buying things for my collection that I couldn't turn around and at least make up my initial investment with. This is a great example.
Torn. I love it, just can't pull myself to do it. Same with the acrylic display cases. Price is just too inflated for me.

Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
I'm not interested in storage that can only fit only one or two decks in it. Sure, they look nice, but my primary interest is the deck itself, so I would prefer having a nice storage box that could fit more, and at a reasonable price. I like the brick boxes because I can store all the decks of the same series in one brick box, it looks nice, and doesn't cost as much (although admittedly even for a brick box the price is a little high).

Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
Yep, I have to agree. Donna finally pulled the trigger on the 2-deck swivel 'tray' from Uusi for us back during the Pagan campaign, and I'm going to use it to display their two gilded decks for a while and then (hint, hint, hint!) swap one or the other out with something I've been teasing VERY hard in another thread that has something to do with "Something Wicked"... I'm feeling this one is going to sting a few people and make the rest of us smile quite broadly! I have a feeling about that first hint close enough to being both light and dark at the same time still fits about as well as anything else I pulled everybody's chain with there. Could be hiding an oil well or a gusher over here - you never know, I'm just a sly old fox.chadmcmillan wrote:Almost hit the "Buy Now" button a few times, just can't justify the price tag of $250. As I recall (and I didn't bother to pop the KS campaign up and verify) it was $135 with one of each light and dark Pagan decks during that campaign, but goes for $250 on their website at uusi.us - which is quite a difference! I'd LOVE to go $250 for the "Friends and Family" brick box, but it hasn't been offered here in the past couple of campaigns and I think Linnea has given us enough hints to figure out that it's not likely to be even in "deck #6" whatever that turns out to be as far as the theme. Unfortunately unless you got yours during the first two decks, you missed those - which is a real shame! The other side of that one is that it has to be a big pull on Peter's stash of that ancient old heartwood redwood - it's just some amazing stuff! That being said, I'd still love to have one, no question about it, I just can't justify the cost unless they offer it for $250 during "deck #6" campaign and everything they have said leads me to believe that just isn't going to happen. Peter has busted his hump for us all for so long I'm surprised he hasn't grown redwood roots at this point...
My wife loves things that make a stylish and classy display at the house, but I always think "that could buy quite a few decks" myself. Now that she's started actively chasing down things on eBay for me and adding items to my watch list, we're both tending to look early and look often. Actually she found the double canasta deck (early 50's) that were sealed and I showed them off in the "Look What I Added..." thread.
OK, we've wandered all over the place - let's get back to the discussion about Jackson's "Sherlock Holmes" campaign...

I pledged the 6 deck wood box during the KickStarter and got it delivered this week. It IS beautiful.jeb wrote:is anyone here going to buy that wooden displayed box ?
If you subtract what 10 decks and coin cost NOW, I ended up getting it for -$5 maybe that's why Jackson is asking for more for the The Independence wood case?
Hand-made in Oregon by Sean Kerry of 'Bark up a Tree Woodworks.
I sort of cheated and glued in a Gold Certificate coin, as I'll probably end up putting all the Kings Wild LE decks in it.

Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
The simple reason is that Bee stock has its own print run requirement or else there's a penalty for it. Originally there was an idea to do something interesting with the Aristocrat stock, but unfortunately that was not possible due to the limitation of the machines that USPCC uses.Norbie wrote:@ Jackson Robinson (hopefully still checks out this forum) / Or Someone on the Inside

@bamabenz
How did the wooden case arrived? I know Jackson took a lot of extra pre-caution to ensure that the box is least likely to be damaged at all.

Re: Sherlock Holmes Decks by Jackson Robinson - NOW SHIPPING
Artistically Bee vs Aristocrat stock makes no difference to the art.
Most don't even know that Aristocrat and Bee are the exact same paper stock and finish the only difference is the embossing pressure so it makes little difference. I also had never made a deck with Aristocrat stock before and wanted to try it out as the Feds are all Bee.
