The name looks ok to me - its a call back to Jacob's bible cards and similar - but you'd need it in both corners to keep the two-way design.
Batman versus King David : this could be a great fight :-)

I might have said more about the design process. :)

As you can see from the court cards the deck is inspired by the original characters of the court cards. So Chalemagne, Alexander, King David, etc...
Every cards has its own hystory and I took the faces and part of the design straight from some famous painting or statues (that's why david seems a statue). The purpose is to bring back the characters and the meaning that we lost with hundreds of years of copying... That's why I tried to keep them all simmetrical according to tradition ( and I agree to put the names on both sides). That's why the center is more geometrical than the face of the courts, that's why I tried, where possible, to keep all the distinguish characteristic of every card ( the king with the axe, one eyd jacks, swords and spears... etc...)

I want to put an explanation for the design of each card in the kickstarter page and of course here on the forum.

The phrases on the joker and aces are to put something on the card to explain their Simbolic meaning,
ace of spades death,
ace of diamond ambition
ace of clubs knowledge
ace of hearts love

For the joker, well the phrase is a bit out of the hystory (it does come from the batman movie) but as the joker meaning is caos, I guess a little caotic explanation will be allright. :)

Here's a new back try... left the dots for radius lines and completely changed the center...

It's nice, but it has a lot less depth than the first back you showed. Looks good though, nice work :)

I think the lines go more with the back design than the dots do. Are you going to keep David statue-looking? I'm interested in what kind of features you could give him.

I think that I will add the eyes and probably the hand to give him a more "human" feel...

This ids the link of the statue it's in "Santa Maria Maggiore"'s cathedral in Rome.

Grammatically, "I am become death" doesn't make sense in English. Not trying to pick on you. Is "I have become death" more of what you're going for? I don't know if you know Spanish but it'd be "Me he convertido en la muerte." I don't know Italian to try to get closer

*EDIT* Disregard this in light of Tom's comment.

Hey Valerio this is Landry and I am glad to see that you are listening to what the cardists want this deck is looking mighty fine man. I know I would get me a deck. I must say yes bicycle is the way to go but when you talked about your deck being printed by an Italian company I thought it sounded unique.

So what is the overall theme of the deck now? I think too much is being changed and it is becoming something between a Misc deck and a Density deck

Really looks great !

But the phrase (yes it's a obsessive disorder ;-))...

Why do you need it ? The idea of death / danger is already on your design with the snake and skull. IMHO, if you want to explain cards from the traditional point of view, do it on an extra card. For me a good design must reflect the tradition by itself.

But, if you want to add a phrase, why this one ? What is the bound between this one and the others on other ace cards ?

I don't know what is the opinion of the other member on this subject. Perhaps they have another one...

I take a look !

Could i suggest to modify the back of your card and do them "borderless" like the back of the tuck...
You add lines where your pips are on the back. Could i suggest to do them finer and add somes ? This could add an 3D effect...

There is no add on policy...
Perhaps add images to explain your pledge level and your addon... Like here : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ka ... ying-cards" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Valerio, why the high goal though ? and the prices of the deck really needs to be rethought, $10-$12 dollars would get you backers, but not at $15-$16.

I'm just sad you didn't go with this center piece, the new one might look cleaner but it's more boring IMO. A safer bet, perhaps.

And volant is right, once you go past $12 people are more likely to really think about whether they want it or not (e.g. "I like it, but do I really want/need it for $15?"). I don't know about most people, but when I start doing that I end up passing 90% of the time.

For the price If you have a look at the 2 deck choice is almost 25 dollars wich is 12,5 each. Don't know yet if to lower the single deck price, of course lowering the price is always better... normally the decks in UK are for 15 dollars beacouse we have to hire a fullfillment company to send them out in america. So If we don't want to earn nothing or almost nothing from selling in US than the price must be higher... I don't have a friend there doing it for free and jackson fulfillment asks 3 dollar per order...

These are my expences:
4.00$ a deck to print with USPCC
3.00$ jackson fullfillment company
3.00$ shipping price in america
1.20 $ goes to kickstarter and bank transfer.
-20% taxes

If I would sell the single deck for 12 I'd put in my pocket 0.60 cents a deck... Isn't it too low?

If you find a better solution I'm here to listen to you...

This quotes thing is troubleing... I want them there couse I really like em... and the reason why I want them there so badly is that they explain the meaning (dunno if it's the right word) of the card... Death, ambition, Love, Knowledge... Whitout the phase it's only a good design. I wanted every card to look like it's original character end to have its meaning... for the aces I couldn't draw a character so the phrase brings the meaning in the design. As you said the ace of spades already has the snake and the skull (symbols of death) but for the others?

Does it make sense to you?

Of course we could change the phrase but it should be a famous phrase about one the 4 topics... I'm open to suggestions...

The New & Custom Decks section is mainly for released decks or live kickstarter projects (isn't it?). Might as well just continue here, it's always interesting to see how the creative process went.

Well I think it's fine to have it over there once everything is done and all set to be launched in a week or two to drum up a little excitement for the deck. We can have a link back here to let others see the creative process.
