I thought of that, actually, but don't have one. A wine barrel top is all I have that looks rustic enough. May have to buy one to really make this shot.
Yes, it does kinda suck about the uncuts. Something ain't right with USPCC lately...

I'm usually not a fan of cards that have a "supernatural" theme modeling witchcraft and stuff like that...

But that branded Oracle tuck case is sexxxxxxxyyyyyy!

Yeah, Chris really went nuts with the copper foil and silver metallic ink. The tuck paper, while having a nice smooth feel, seems to be two layer, and has some separation problems. Overall, though, I gotta say this is one of the nicest tucks I've seen.

And before anyone starts belly-aching, I haven't gotten my Sherlock decks yet. I'm just saying that Oracle, branded and unbranded, is a serious contender for tuck of the year.

Can't wait for Oracle to be released on their website! Too bad I have to wait until June... Looks fantastic.

They could be stiffer, but they riffle and cut surprisingly well. Fan like a dog though. No gilded edges either which is kinda disappointing!

Tuesday / Wednesday goods: I picked up a couple more things from the post today. Here is one of them, I'll post more items tomorrow.

Chris O's absolutely FABULOUS Oracle decks with extras, I have LE #80, a trip of CARC's Black Owl Eyes decks, a 150th anniversary Palekh yellow deck from 1961 (see 1811-1961 commemorative card) and an open deck of the South African BleuTrein deck that I showed an unopened example of here before.

Really (really!!) well done and as always it seems to be better 'in person' than it looked before they arrived. These are some sweet tucks: Chris O deserves a pat on the back for doing them to the max!

I haven't checked his site recently but do yourself and your collection a huge favour and grab some of the Calaveras decks Chris did last year. Amazing artwork there, seriously stunning stuff. Set the standard for the South Western art style IMO.

Ah, dang it, Eoghann! I have a package at the post office that was "too big for the box" that's from some little company in Chicago "Uusi". I was going to go get them in the morning between 9 & 10 (the only time they open) and post them here, of course - but you beat me to it! I'm sure that my redwood box isn't in it, and I'm fairly certain that there's no way that my light & dark gilt deck can't possibly be in it either, but I'm certain that a couple of bricks of each and some uncut sheets are! Darn - so nice: can you shoot a pix of the tucks to keep me going for twelve hours? If you don't I won't be able to sleep tonight!

Man, oh, man! "We have touchdown!" I'll go change the title of that thread to read "Rewards being delivered!". Too cool! I'm pretty sure that a bunch of UC members will also be in that lucky first group as well, Linnea and Peter have as always outdone themselves, they always do! I wish a few other deck artists/designers could take notes and learn lessons from them: they consistently outperform and have either matched or beaten their deadline - and this time I'm going to have to give it to them: those decks in your hands today mean that they had to have shipped them before the end of April. Awesome, simply f'ing awesome... I'm betting those tucks rate :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar: :ucstar:

I'm loving that some of my first "All In!" Kickstarter pledges after I learned what to buy there are going to be winners! Frankly, I'm pretty sure that my redwood box can't possibly be in this shipment, and I'm certain that my gilt decks - one of each variety - can't be in it either, but I can wait. That's going to be one awesome display: a Uusi dual-deck redwood swivel "hidden" compartment (unless you know about it) will spring open to show both decks with gold edges! So cool I'm going to lose sleep tonight I feel certain! I'm betting that I do have a pair of uncut sheets in this shipment...

Of course, it should be coming with a print of the deck's Diptych, and who knows how long THAT may delay its arrival...

Picked up a 5-deck lot off eBay. The two standouts are a Congress Bridge deck, the slipcase is in excellent condition, the cards are in fair condition though and have a nice floral garden landscape design on the back.

The other is a pinochle deck with a riderback design. From the tax stamp remnants and the AoS code I believe it was printed in 1919. Tuck is in bad condition but cards are nice and still playable.
