Is it possible that it's a foil deck. Instead of pressing paper together, foiled is pressed together creating foil card stock.
Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

Actually, it's a line from Shakespeare. Bradbury used it as his title, but it's originally from Macbeth. Both are fantastic reads though

OnTheGrind wrote:okay, so i've been thinking and I thought this was way off base, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense...

a deck of all mirror cards. Something Wicked "this way comes?" don't you mean, something wicked comes this way?

bright and shiny, but dark at the same time? mirrors reflect light, but are otherwise dull/dark...

set the world of playing cards on fire? Well IDK, but it is something every magician would want, so many gaff cards, and think of all the tricks that are possible!

If you've had one, you've had them all... I could only find one mirror deck via my quick and dirty search, if you had that one, you had them all?

Maybe I'm reaching, but who knows! here's giving it yet another attempt
Did you mean this? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... irror-deck

Also, Mike did say that this was never done before because it can't be done... but the mirror deck has been done before! Nonetheless, it could be a mirror deck... but for Venexiana Dark. A whole mirror gaff deck for a custom deck most likely has never been done before. The kickstarter I posted is for a mirror gaff deck for Bikes.

Additionally, Mike also said:
Mike Ratledge wrote: If there was one thing that (as a connoisseur collector) you would absolutely have no other choice but to turn off the old ticker or jump?
So this new thing must also appeal to collectors, not just magicians.

You don't mean he guessed it correctly!? Unless you're in on it too... DDD: Or you could just be referring to the where-"Something wicked this way comes"-from argument.

Thanks for pointing that out, Wahl. I even read Macbeth in high school and missed the reference, so it's nice to know :)

Obviously we know who, and we know that it is not Dark Venexiana because that has already had a preview. So...??

If you were a magician or cardists this would make your moves gleam and dazzle the eyes, but if you were a collector it would be your eyes ablaze with satisfaction! 2+2≠0 people.

Holographic foil on the back of the cards? Or maybe having three-year-olds coat them all in glitter? Or maybe even gold flecks...

You're right, Jock, no worries. But I suppose it was my own fault for the confusion since I used my last name and not my first. Oh well

Nah, Shane did that already. And I have a gilded tarot deck from Piatnik, so not that either. Mike said it was something all cardists and magicians would love or want, so we should be asking MagicFingerz if there was one thing he could have with his cards, what would it be. Also, he mentioned the custom tucks Lotrek made for the Grotesque deck. Paul will hand-cut and sign a custom Encarded tuck for you, so that is out.
How about serial numbers actually printed on the decks and tucks like is done with paper money, sequential and non repeating. So deck 0001 really is deck 0001.
will kidnap and torture your boss for a dollar...

I think I've got it figured out  Mike started this thread to glean all of our ideas to jumble into one huge transformational transforming minimal invisible holographic metallic handmade carbon fiber disappearing hand numbered glow in the dark recycled paper printed one of a kind decks printed by Keebler elves at EPCC, finished at USPCC, packaged by Jackson's minion(s) in tuck cases made by Encarded, and foiled at Half Moon, and all sent to Canada, so EVERYONE has to pay international shipping, except vjose (who will still find something to complain about) and CBJ (who will somehow find 4 different Bicycle versions).

I will apologize in advance if anyone took offense to anything I wrote here. Just wanted to pack all the, um, more interesting ideas here in one place to give everyone a good laugh, cuz I, for one, am out of ideas about what this could possibly be. :D
