Man, these types of decks aren't getting any better. Random name, text on all faces and backs, horribly small courts... And they just took the "semi-circle on the edge" idea from Ornates.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
They screwed up the back too. It's one way because they reflected rather than rotated the design (look at the upsidedown "Mayhem")

Hey, like you (I think it was you?) told me once- these decks are great. The more failed KS campaigns, presumably the less we'll see of this ga-bage.MagikFingerz wrote:Man, these types of decks aren't getting any better. Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
They've fixed that but I doubt they'll fix everything else. Somebody needs to tell them that less is more! lol

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
The tuck and the backs looks nice but all of that red is an eye sore plus too much going on with the court cards. These days I'm swaying away from most Bike decks (KS or not), I'm even more selective.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
I actually see a lot of potential here. I'm in for a pair of decks for now, and will keep an eye on this one to see the direction it takes. Busy? Yes. Are the words necessary? No. But there's still an ineffable quality to this one that appeals to me, and it's not actually an Elite clone (nor, for that matter, a clone of their earlier work, which did not appeal to me.)
And while I acknowledge that red can be a bit much, I find the red here to be appealing in much the same way that I liked the red on Requiem. Your mileage may vary, of course.
(My favorite Russian idiom is <<Ha вкус и цвет, товарищи нет.>> It's pronounced, "Na vskoos ee tsvyet, tovarishchi nyet." Literally, it means, "In taste and color, there are no comrades.")
Does anyone know if the crew behind this deck are members of UC? We should invite them to the discussion, if not.

Problem is a lot of these garbage decks are getting through somehow and gumming up the works at USPCC causing backlogs and delays for the good stuff.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS) (wap)
I for one like this deck. It could handle a few tweeks but it's nice nontheless.
It's not just decks like this plugging up uspcc, its those creators that put a deck a month up on ks. If this keeps up, we'll pledge on ks for a deck we wont get for over a year.

Feeding the addiction one deck at a time.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
I'll agree with Rousselle, there is room for improvement but the design appeals to me. I pledged for two and am keeping an eye on these. Are they masterpieces? No, but I like them none the less. As my Grandmother liked to say, opinions are like butts... Everyone has one and and everyone else's stinks.....

Well i actually like the card back, but nothing else attracts me to the deck. Yup not my cup of tea, or coffee, or whatever drink you are trying to sell.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
I like them. The box rocks. The faces are exacly what i am looking for in a modern deck of cards(not really but better than just standart/recolour), but i think too much going on on the backs, but this is the style from the author - everything bigger and richer on small spots. I can't really pledge, becouse it's cheaper to wait and buy from eu shops, but you never know if those decks are avaivable to shops around europe, becouse most buy directly from MM.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
to be honest , i really cant say, we do not have an official eu supplier, i guess your best option would be to find someone that side selling the dark templar deck, he would sureley be supplying steel aswell.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
I really like the design and I've pledged for a deck. I enjoy these fancy designs and can't stand the minimalist stuff that some other people seem to like. Everyone has different tastes.
Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
Welcome to UC Cardicians !
I really like this deck : colors, complexity, courts and pips design.
But why text on cards ? Do these texts add something to the design ? Do they improve the theme ? Do we need them to understand that a card with a "K" and a "club" on it is a "King Of Club" ? My opinion : no, no, no ! Please, Cardicians, have mercy : remove them...

FWIW, I share lolo's opinion on the subject of the text on the cards, both faces and backs. The back design is awesome; they don't need the text interfering.
Just a thought.

Re: Bicycle Mayhem Playing Cards deck (KS)
While i dont mind the text on the back, i really dont like the text on the courts, it is unnecessary like lolo said, and it forces your courts to be smaller to accommodate the banner. Well but you said you are not here to please, so i dont expect you to change it. But its been 4 posts in a row, maybe that should say something.
