The Absolut has been around for a while, and a quick check shows that they are more pricey than when I got mine. I think I paid about $20. I think they are relatively rare, and if they have a special meaning they are probably worth a few bucks. They are a neat deck, very different in feel and stock from anything USPCC. The drink recipes are nice too.RandyButterfield wrote:Very nice looking! I have a question for ya Paul. Is the Absolut Deck worth the price I've seen for them? I work with Absolut during my day job, so it would have a special meaning for me. I just haven't pulled the trigger when I've seen it listed on eBay for high prices. I would definitely open up the Deck as well!Encarded wrote:Being a very picky collector, who also only buys 1-2 of any deck, my collection is rather small. I do enjoy playing with nearly every one of these decks (only the red Jerry's Nugget is still sealed). Handling the cards and seeing the artistry of each is the primary joy of my collection.
BTW, the uncut photos of the Aurum Deck look badass!! Can't wait to get mine.
thanks, Randy

Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
It's kind of hard for me to take pics of my collection because the lighting isn't good and my shelves are very tall, but here's a video of my collection. I've gotten a ton of decks since this video, though.
Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
That's a very impressive collection Evan!
I'm jealous as I'm sitting here at about 20 decks...

Well we have to start somewhere. It wasn't long ago that I had 5 decks, and now I have more than 350!MJF wrote:That's a very impressive collection Evan!

Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
I'm sitting on 20 decks, but I've got tons of outstanding decks waiting in kickstarter projects, orders from various retailars and also through Ebay and internal selling here on United Cardists... all that money spent and still no cards!!! he he he
Either way, I need to stop for a while now as I've burned a hole in my wallet and my check card is on the verge of melting. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have money for gas, food, housing, etc... ha ha ha, but who needs those things when you have decks...

Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
Thought collector's might like to see something besides boxes as a storage solution. I bought these at Ikea, they are called Helmer drawer units.
This is the drawer holding my magic and cardistry decks. These are the opened ones I look at, with the duplicates stored elsewhere.
These are my novelty decks.
The helmers have six drawers with label holders on the front of each. Each drawer will hold 60 regular size decks, mostly laid flat, with room for a few miniature decks laid flat as well.
I have a third helmer, in another part of the room, that holds duplicates and a few tarot decks.

Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
Just want to add a few more drawers as a follow up on my previous post.
Here are my international decks, there are 30 decks from about 13 different countries. This drawer does not include countries in asia.
Here are my decks from China, Japan, and one from Indonesia. 42 decks.
*Vintage Nintendo playing cards in the boxes with Napolean on them. They used Napolean on their highest quality decks. These are a Mekuri (dark) deck, and a Oru (coins) deck.
These are art related decks. 28 different decks with many duplicates making a total of 42.

You should explore more the Spanish decks (like the Galicia deck you have from Fournier). They are nice!

Thanks Max!
Yes there do seem to be many interesting Spanish decks. I also have the 1979 Fournier reprint of the Baraja Ibero Americana, and a vintage tourist deck of 54 views of Spain, also by Fournier. A large number of my international facsimile decks were made in 2004 as replicas of the decks in the Fournier Museum collection. I am very glad they made these extremely rare decks from all over the world available as facsimiles. Do you have any recommendations of non-standard Spanish decks I could watch for?
I also have a few Mexican decks which use Spanish type suits.
Since I mentioned the facsimiles I will add those drawers below. First the decks made up to the year 1850. 51 decks including a few duplicates of my favourites:
Below are facsimiles of decks made in 1850 or later. 31 decks including 2 duplicates. One of my favourites here is a wonderfully odd Spanish deck called - Chocolates "El Barco" - and you can see it here: http://www.dxpo-playingcards.com/xpo/de ... -10-04.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" In the drawer it is the box that has a sunflower face on it.

I took the pictures out to make this more manageable, but I was wondering how long does it take to get a collection like that?CBJ wrote:Hey guys,
This is always another popular thread. Let's see your collection of cards, display cabinets, storage boxes. etc.
I'll start it off...
I was messing around with my cards the other day. Here are some photos I took.
These were all of my cards as of Sep 13th... but I already have more decks... it just never stops.
Enjoy!
I'll take more extensive photos when a couple more packages come in.
So... whip those decks out boys, and show us what you got.
Decks.. not.. oh, never mind...

Re: Post pics of your playing card collection !
Here's mine as of 2 weeks ago. I've had to slow down a lot after going to university, but I hope to resume collecting when I've settled into a job. My collection has grown from 40 decks to 220 in the last year, so I'm taking a break

I took a pic of it with my camera phone and downloaded it on my computer but it says that file is too big. Any suggestions?

9 more decks needed to fill the whole bookshelf, I'll just keep up the ones I like most and place others in a container.

Tom,
That's very impressive! I especially like the Wall display, simple and effective.
Did I see only one pair of UC decks? Where's your loyalty, man?
Great Ornates' brick boxes. Very sweet!
