Greetings,

So, what's your favorite movie? Personally I like any of Christopher Nolan's Films, and I love V for Vendetta like I said before, (and I'm pretty sure you knew that by my name) It can be magic related, a comedy, anything! ( as long as its appropriate for the forum) Cant wait to see what types of movies you guys are into!

I believe I can narrow it down to about 5 but that is as far as I will go.

Being There

A clockwork Orange

I agree, picking a favourite movie is tough because there is just soooo much to pick from and so many I like.

but from the very top of my head the only thing that pops up at this moment is

SCHOOL OF ROCK!!!

My top five (I can't decide on one).

1: V for Vendetta
2: Training Day
3: Man on Fire (Tony Scott version)
4: Batman Begins
5: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Actually, I love all the Harry Potter movies more than life itself. But I also love these movies just as much, and I didn't want to use a series. It's cheating.

Understand that I'm a grown up man, but I do have two young children. I've watched a lot of movies in my time, but to be 100% honest, the movies that I can watch over and over and never feel bad about are the Pixar movies.

Yes, technically they are for kids, but the care put into them, their visual beauty and depth of the stories are just inspiring to me. There is so much in those movies for adults if you take the time to really pay attention. Things like the opening montage of UP will pass over the head of a kid but are just soul-crushingly powerful when you are an adult, have a family, etc. Pixar has a gift for crafting a film that anyone of any age can watch and take something from.

I like action movies and sci-fi and watching stuff blow up as much as anyone, but so many movies are just style over substance. Maybe I'm old, but substance seems to matter more to me as time goes on.

I have to totally agree. I am a grown man ( physically if not mentally) and have zero children ( and it will remain that way), however my wife and I own every Pixar movie ( except for Cars and Cars 2, Pixars only miss in my opinion) we love them. I however have a special hatred for "Up" not because it wasn't another Pixar masterpiece with a funny and heartwarming tale, but because the first 15 minutes had me balling like a little girl

Lawrence of Arabia - greatest screenplay ever! Nothing is written! (except maybe Skynet launching)
Citizen Kane - more FX shots than Star Wars! (even though it is unfair to Marion Davies, it's still great!)
Casablanca - this is our hill and these are our beans!!
Seven Samurai - Kurosawa's best! (take that, Rashomon!!)
The Maltese Falcon - just great everything - and source of my plagiarism above (book is good too)

...and MST3K: The Movie (how it didn't win an Oscar is beyond me!)

If you want to talk Bogart, do not forget the African Queen. Any of the Hitchcock films with Jimmy Stewart are always worth while.

A big nod to Twelve Angry Men and The Grapes of Wrath and a bigger nod to all my homies up in this piece.
