So this is the 5th deck in the UUSI series. Think we'll see the epic hexalogy's conclusion by year's end?

If they keep their current schedule we will see the campaign around October/November timeframe but cards - likely next January/February. Remember, Peter & Linnea historically beat their delivery estimates by weeks if not a month or more.

I'm almost more upset now, remembering that they will only release 2 more decks. One step closer to the end. Every time I think about it, it brings me down. They are far and away my favorite designers. As always, can't wait for this one!

I don't understand why some people feel that way about things ending. A friend of mine was seriously upset after we had seen the last Harry Potter movie for a similar reason. If you go through life constantly thinking "I'll never have this experience again", you won't be able to appreciate the present moment

Anyway, just a few musings from a hobby psychologist. Carry on with the cake theories!

Excellent analogy, MagikFingerz! I think it's a forgone conclusion that they won't just abandon their efforts, but - you never know. I can't promise anything and nobody has said otherwise, but - let's be honest. They have produced 5 projects including BB Redux every six months for 2 years now, and delivered ahead of time on every one, as much as 6 weeks. If they do these 'last two' and don't ever design another card, are we not a whole lot better off?

Of course we have some absolutely fantastic decks, and two as yet to be seen (given that in under 7 days we will at least have a glimpse of Hotcakes), and I'm sure that any one of us would have to say that their contribution already has been WAY beyond those that most artists have done in recent history, much less over time. If they don't, it will be a shame, but they still will have given us more than good times, they have given us a piece of their hearts and souls (and broken backs to do so), on time every time, and that's something we've never seen from the kickstarter world, anyway (not meaning to even come close to belittling anything at all!). In fact it will be another year before we see those "last decks" in our hands, and who knows? They could well look back on this and see that we're all in the same boat and surprise us. I wouldn't count them out, but I wouldn't count on it, either. Time will tell - as always.

I can't wait to see this deck, and I'm certain that we'll be sitting here in roughly six months thinking and saying the exact same thing again!

Should you want to visit United Cardist before Thursday, definitely check out the interview with Robert Lancaster whose collection of more than 2500 playing card decks is incredible. We connected with Robert last year when he sent an email introducing himself to us and a link to what he hysterically called "The Way Back Machine" (images of Mr. Peabody's time travel machine of course came to mind...). The Way Back was essentially a link to a recovered and archived site he built at the dawn of the computer era and where he cataloged, reviewed and documented every deck he hunted down. Its an awesome look back in time, this genre and a great glimpse into the mind of a true collector. Its all there on United Cardist and we feel its a "Must Read"
