The American frontier was a rough place, where men fought and died and played a hell of a lot of poker. The Plugged Nickel Playing Cards were inspired by a love of the Old West, and pull from some of the colorful characters of that time. You’ll find the gambler and the outlaw, the sheriff and the prospector – only you’ll find them all dead. Legends never truly die, though, so the spirit of the frontier lives on… more or less… in this hand-illustrated and custom printed deck of specialty playing cards.

The Wanted Poster deck has a light background, like the rough paper once used to warn law-abiding citizens of the presence of unwanted outlaws.

The Plugged Nickel cards are printed right here in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company, and proudly boast the Bicycle logo. Also, is anyone else only seeing two images in CBJ's post, or is it just me?

I remember when this was posted the first time, and i believe there might have been some wagering involved...

From what i can see in those two images, i'll just say this: That is a mighty interesting hat!

Barbed wire. For some reason I'm getting only two images and a bunch of small x-ed squares, but they are two different boxes. Couldn't find the old posts on this, lost in crash, but remember a similar barbed wire deck that we discussed and I wasn't nuts about the courts. Guess we need to see more.

Wish we had that old thread to compare notes. There was a good deal of discussion IRRC and it was around the time Calaveras was getting a lot of face and I think this deck took some hits. I'd like to know if it's been re-jiggered.

I think the links are broken because I fixed the corner pips and re-uploaded the images. Since the site is Wordpress, it changed the image path. Bikefanatic, we're planning on launching February 23, so that I have the day off to sit at my computer all day and let it break my heart.

That's the Wanted Poster deck. The Rusted Tin deck uses the same basic line art, but when I was coloring the art, I came up with two different looks, and couldn't decide which I liked better. So I did both. Here's the Rusted Tin.











You can also get a good look at all the amazing web design I did when I built the site... though there's no more information there than I just put here, except for some largely unnecessary ad copy. But if you love ad copy, you can see it at:

23rd is on a Sunday so I assume a certain EST will be for it depending on other people's time zones. (10am or 11am EST is perfect). I like both designs plus not worried about how much barbed wire is on the decks.
