Well, somebody's gonna say it sooner or later: Shane's absence is quite obvious.

I don't know what to make of this one. I like how the courts are different dragons and I'm sure the artwork will look better in person than on a screen. And I like parts of the back. I don't like the blue electric bolts at all and the skulls don't seem like they belong there either. Hmmm

Hmmm...not feeling the card designs at all. The tuck case however looks great to me :)

Skulls or no skulls, the back design is way too intense.

So is AB only going to create decks based off of books or is it a coincidence this one shares a name with a book too?

Neither the back nor the box seem to have any connection to the dragon theme (unless the glyphs on the box actually have some meaning relating to dragons). Still, the back just seems like they went "hmm, what can we put on here? Skulls? Sure, that works on everything, right?" "Still seems a bit monochrome though, some blue lighting ought to liven it up!"

Like others, I guess they want to stick with a formula they know works. Name Of The Wind being the number one kickstarter deck by far wasn't due to card collectors, so you can't blame them for trying to get backers from different types of people.

Yeah, I was thinking the same things as MagikFingerz. Though it depends on the book. I think Jackson was taking this into consideration when he decided on the Sherlock Holmes theme, and honestly I expected that one to garner more pledges than it actually did (although of course it was extremely successful due to Jackson's reputation alone), probably at least half of what Name of the Wind got. Sherlock Holmes has been getting popular again, recently, since the relase of the movies and two separate TV series (one on BBC and another on CBS). Name of the Wind just went viral, I guess it was the author's participation, too? Some cult following?

Not really feeling this deck. Doubt I will pledge.

With a deck name like Dragon Tome don't you think you might want to have a dragon on the back?

I haven't bought any Albino Dragon decks as I could never relate to their decks and they hype accompanied with it.

We'll have to stop making fun of the world, he raises a project even though it has not yet delivered its previous two! There is no me! I wish it still says it is a minimum!

Now that is info I did not know. Albino Dragon still has two projects undelivered? That makes me a little more hesitant. I like these, and would like to own a deck, but if they're not delivering, I will probably hold off.

The Name of the Wind has at least started to ship. I received my shipping notice yesterday. I only backed for cards, none of the "stuff" so I don't know how everything else is going. I like the idea of the dragons but I was always in for Shane's art. I've been underwhelmed with The Princess Bride decks and so far with this one.

Let's be clear, so far Albino Dragon has delivered on time for 3 previous projects. Yes, Name of the Wind is overdue, but that was partially due to the incredible size of the project as well as the fact that the author was personally involved in proofing the artwork as well as signing over 8000 bookplates for backers (details are on Patrick's blog). As has been noted, these are shipping now.

Princess Bride isn't "late" as it was promised for July 2014. Albino Dragon is one of the few I would say could be trusted to start a KS before delivering on a previous one. All that said, this deck so far doesn't excite me.

Thanks, Strag. I was pretty sure Albino Dragon was a good name, but this will be the first of theirs I back so I wasn't sure.

I also agree the skulls and dragons don't look good together though the dragons look great.

It honestly looks amateurish, i wonder who they outsourced the designs to this time. And the tuckbox is reminiscent of the photography deck (cant rmb the name).

The title not having 'playing cards' in it means I would never have seen it if it were not for this thread. Plus...I don't want the other stuff.

I like Albino Dragon decks but that back... woah! Just not putting it together at all.

Have one reserved for now to stay on top of it but probably won't keep it.

I agree, that back looks like it belongs in a BBM deck more than anything else.

And being "forced" (if you just want the deck) to get all the add-ons makes this an easy pass for me.

The background of the back looks nice...but looks like someone from the 90s got lost, ended up here and thought adding some clipart would make it cooler.

Actually only 3 or 4 maybe projects have had 1st backer rewards and those have been advertised way in advance. So it is not for that reason. I really like looking at all the projects that come out. The first backer rewards are just side perks that I seem to have a knack to grab
