Hey guys,
Here's a new deck coming soon from Erik Dahlman and the Albino Dragon team!

Like others, I guess they want to stick with a formula they know works. Name Of The Wind being the number one kickstarter deck by far wasn't due to card collectors, so you can't blame them for trying to get backers from different types of people.DukeBoy wrote:So is AB only going to create decks based off of books or is it a coincidence this one shares a name with a book too?
Yeah, I was thinking the same things as MagikFingerz. Though it depends on the book. I think Jackson was taking this into consideration when he decided on the Sherlock Holmes theme, and honestly I expected that one to garner more pledges than it actually did (although of course it was extremely successful due to Jackson's reputation alone), probably at least half of what Name of the Wind got. Sherlock Holmes has been getting popular again, recently, since the relase of the movies and two separate TV series (one on BBC and another on CBS). Name of the Wind just went viral, I guess it was the author's participation, too? Some cult following?MagikFingerz wrote:Neither the back nor the box seem to have any connection to the dragon theme (unless the glyphs on the box actually have some meaning relating to dragons). Still, the back just seems like they went "hmm, what can we put on here? Skulls? Sure, that works on everything, right?" "Still seems a bit monochrome though, some blue lighting ought to liven it up!"

Albino Dragon still has two projects undelivered? That makes me a little more hesitant. I like these, and would like to own a deck, but if they're not delivering, I will probably hold off.
Let's be clear, so far Albino Dragon has delivered on time for 3 previous projects. Yes, Name of the Wind is overdue, but that was partially due to the incredible size of the project as well as the fact that the author was personally involved in proofing the artwork as well as signing over 8000 bookplates for backers (details are on Patrick's blog). As has been noted, these are shipping now.vixentorgames wrote:Now that is info I did not know. Albino Dragon still has two projects undelivered? That makes me a little more hesitant. Ha, the Fotographis deck or something like that.volantangel wrote:It honestly looks amateurish, i wonder who they outsourced the designs to this time. And the tuckbox is reminiscent of the photography deck (cant rmb the name).
Faut arrêter de se foutre du monde ! L'envoi des decks a a été affirmé début septebmre 2013 ! Et à l'heure actuelle je n'ai demandé que des decks, rien reçu et non plus un ordre d'envoi ! Pour moi, c'est du foutage de gueule !Becky C wrote:The Name of the Wind has at least started to ship. I received my shipping notice yesterday. I only backed for cards, none of the "stuff" so I don't know how everything else is going. I like the idea of the dragons but I was always in for Shane's art. I've been underwhelmed with The Princess Bride decks and so far with this one.
I can translate if you want :Oswin wrote:Faut arrêter de se foutre du monde ! L'envoi des decks a a été affirmé début septebmre 2013 ! I agree, that back looks like it belongs in a BBM deck more than anything else.Strag wrote:I like Albino Dragon decks but that back... woah! Just not putting it together at all.
Have one reserved for now to stay on top of it but probably won't keep it.
Actually only 3 or 4 maybe projects have had 1st backer rewards and those have been advertised way in advance. So it is not for that reason. I really like looking at all the projects that come out. The first backer rewards are just side perks that I seem to have a knack to grabMcSpazzy wrote:And totally not for the chance at first backer rewards, right?badpete69 wrote:That is why I am here McSpazzy.
