I caved to the peer pressure and upgraded to the metal case. :)

Good choice. I mean if your already spending 100 bucks on a deck might as well spend 20 more for a case that can match the quality. I'm not sure why he doesn't have an option for a carbon fiber case.

Yep, I was 3rd or 4th. I've noticed that beyond a certain point KS doesn't seem to bother to keep that in order - or is it moving you when you change your pledge, maybe?

@Sly: Question about the answer you gave for stretch goals: we're not going to be able to add $30 to get the red or blue threaded decks? I understand that they cost more, but it seems like those of us that got in on the ground level shouldn't have to give up our "Early Bird" slots and go another $50 to get there.

This is another truly unique deck to come up on Kickstarter. While the design is not unique using standard faces and so on the "stock" if you can call it that is completely unique. While the price is a little steep I can understand the value. Initially I hesitated on backing this as it is more than I really like to spend on playing cards but this is a unique deck most likely never to be followed up and thusly I backed it for a full deck and metal case. Great project and here's hoping it gets funded!

I have been thinking about a solution to my early backers that want a discount on the color threaded decks.
Here is what I came up with:

I will launch the new reward levels along with new "Early Bird Stretch Goal Levels" There will only be 50 of these instead of the previous 100. I will announce with a backer only update and on this forum when I will post the new levels to give my early backers a chance to upgrade at a discounted rate.

"Works for me". That's fair enough, and let's those that are paying attention keep their "EB" discount. I suspect not everyone will go on up, but - who knows? It is a truly unique project. Just a note: maybe split it 60/40 in favor of the metal "tuck" box? Last I looked there were still a few of the plastic box EB's available. I think those of us that are willing to throw $150 at a brand new deck are limited.

The thing is that if we move up, those people that are not EB level will grab the $30 discount for themselves, making it a break-even for you. That's just the way people act. If memory serves me well, KS lets you mark any level "Sold Out" at any time, so maybe mark those levels "done" when you make the new ones?

I'm not sure I understand. Assuming the EB people move up, and slots open for the EB level, people not on the EB level that are not interested in the more expensive level will try to jump in on the EB level, right? So you're saying he should decrease the slots as EB people move out so that non-EB people won't have a chance to jump in?

From his perspective - if he leaves the original EB levels available and 50+50 there now move up to the Red or Blue EB he makes, then it allows 100 people who already pledged but weren't early to grab those original slots and costs him $3000, effectively negating the benefit of offering the new levels at all.

Far out. These are getting more and more tempting. Still finding it hard to justify the $$$ though.

I have to agree. They are far more expensive than any new deck I've ever seen, but in this case I expect that the novelty is worth the investment. I'm still considering purchasing a set of the "Red" when he gets those available, and it looks like he'll make that "Stretch Goal".

Oh, I understand, RJ. It's not in my budget, either.

slkly1 - Haven't heard from you in a while anything new? Thought I would give you a bump up. I didn't know you were famous. You single handedly brought down a dice scammer that was buying dice from china. I loved it when he didn't call you "Sly Kly" but called you Kyle Sorensen. I bet when you first posted those 3 links he researched you and probably s**t a brick.

Very Interesting reading. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/753 ... e/comments

Thanks Sprouts.

Nothing new to report on the Card front. Just waiting out the slow holiday slump. Things will really pick up after funding on Jan 7th.

The fraudulent dice project was crazy. My original Kickstarter name was my real full name so that is why he knew it. I changed it before my first dice project and now it is permanently Sly Kly. I was in the middle of launching my dice project when I saw the fraud project. I was studying dice and noticed right away that his dice and carrying case have been available in bulk for 8+ years. By day I am a Mechanical engineer so his explanation of how he supposedly balanced and designed the dice was comical. After his account was deleted he tried it again with these aquapod things where it holds a gold fish and grows a plant out of the top of it. That one was caught right away. I didn't single handedly take him down but I did start it. I was just wanting to protect the dice market since my 1st project was in that realm.
I was hoping lately that the Upcycled dice project wouldn't get funded. The creator of that one is sketchy.
I will post links later once I get to a computer and off my phone.

I might pledge for this. They look really good with the shiny red background but that's too high of a stretch goal.
