I got them from a forum member who sold off his collection. I already have two from the DB Variety Box, but it doesn't hurt to have extras. ;)

That pair is a good get! They are seldom seen outside his "Red & Black" brick collection, which is going for upwards of $300 these days, even though it originally sold for $100. That particular brick has several decks you just can't find any other way: White Lion series A Red, White Lion series A "Rainbow" (UV), the two Bee Casino Split Spade decks you show, the two "Not for Resale" Bicycle branded Split Spades are half of the dozen decks in that brick. Of course you can find the WL a Red in the AIP bottle - if you're willing to pay $300 for that item alone.

Today's addition, part of a Christmas present from my wife which included membership in Club 808:

==========[ Bicycle_Club808 ]==========

Image
I'm sorry, but this whole deck just screams "Missed Opportunity".

Actually, it just sorta mumbles it.

For a deck that was supposed to kick off a club for collectors of playing cards, this is one seriously blase' effort.

I get that Club 808 is about all things Bike, but, other than the backs and the box, they might as well have tossed in a red or blue Rider Back deck as their "welcome to Club 808" freebie.

I do like how the back uses a reversible "808" to make it double-ended, but that is about the only touch of thought or creativity I found in the entire deck.

Why couldn't they at least have made the Additional card an Ad card promoting the club? Sure, anyone who has the deck is most likely already a member (unless they got the deck via eBay, or in a trade, etcetera), but still!

Unfortunately, my Fed 52 Pt2 stuff hasn't shown up yet, or Calaveras, but I did get a few goodies this week:

Image
The coin from the Empire project is pretty darn awesome, btw.

Not sure if anyone else sprung for the collector's box on the Emperor deck project, but they are really nice:

Image

Inside the decks fit quite snug in velvet lined foam:

Image

And a surprise under the decks, cards listing who all the courts are supposed to be (love that about this one and Lotrek's Venexiana):

Image
They are double-sided, but I was lazy and didn't flip them for another pic.

All in all, not a bad week, plus I got shipping notices from Uusi for BBRedux and Joann for my blue Emperors. So next week might be just as good :D

Ya'll hit the jackpot. It's possible next week we can get our Federal 52 Part 2 decks plus others from Kickstarter.

I have to agree that they certainly didn't put much - if any - effort into the "Club 808" member deck. It's about as plain Jane as you can get. It does seem like they would make that deck a showpiece, like metallic inks, fancy tuck, etc. Maybe they'll have another deck for the 2nd year?? Hard to say, but I'm willing to bet that those 5000 decks are likely about done / gone. Maybe the update about "Coming in 2014" (which was talking about Jackson) will let them finally do something with Club 808 that is really exclusive, like a 1000-deck run or something. They make the rules, and they've always been known to break them.

She also bought me an uncut sheet of the Bicycle Cigar deck. Maybe after Christmas, we'll get it framed.

Any advice on getting uncut sheets framed?

Just a "Ho, Ho, Ho!" note: if you REALLY want one of Jackson's Black Reserve Note (the Bicycle branded one), they are available while they last for $60 per deck on his website. The "Limited Edition" (unbranded) ones were presold 984 of 1000 produced and - of course - are not available.

A few things flew down the driveway with me when I went up to the post office today: the first picture is one of "AlienInks" 7-day project where he sold a very limited edition of 153 decks total, each serial numbered and signed. I'll take them out of the (unsealed) tuck tomorrow and show the face and back. The second one is a custom deck from the Marlboro "Crazy Mountain Ranch" out in Montana, where they have their big parties for people that either get invited or win contests online that they have. It's from the 1991-92 season when they were running a large "Party at the Ranch" promotion and I've never seen them before anywhere, but I know quite a few people that have been to the ranch, usually for 3 days and 2 nights now, but they used to have 5-day/4-night trips back then. The second picture shows the face of the deck which has a Hoyle Joker on the top. The third item is just another black Centurion.

The third picture I kind of threw in there to see if anyone has any idea of what it is or has seen one before. I got two of them shipped in almost like filler with something I bought. The top of the tuck says "Safety First", bottom says "Think Safety" and the two sides have similar wording. I looked up the company "Aon", and found it was a British-based financial firm with a presense here in the US, but didn't find anything about them being a trucking firm or having a trucking division, nor anything that tied the "Swift" name in with them. Just a wild guess maybe they do have a company named "Swift" that does trucking? I don't know. I figure they are worth next to nothing, but just curious if anyone had ever seen them before. There's no indication who made them or anything else except the "Safety" theme and logos with what appears to be 18-wheelers top and bottom. Anyone? By the way, I just took both decks and layed them side-by-side and flipped one over.

I think the pictures end up reversed from how I attached them, so what I describe as 'first' might be 'last', etc. or even mixed up entirely.

Yeah they are the backs of the CARC Exquisites.

The other is a Little Duke toy deck - made by USPCC and about half the size of a mini deck. I don't really know much about them - I just caught a bargain online. 99p!

Once you start looking for them they aren't that unusual- selling anywhere from £4 to £20.

These Brown Backs seem more of a rarity though...

No Federal 52 Part 2 decks yet. Messed up because I'm in the tier where the mistake was made but might be possible I get both of each still.

One I forgot to add to my picture Tuesday: a pair of RJRTC Bee "Watermelons" with the 5 dice in the original shipping container in pristine condition. This looks like it was never touched so I keep it safely tucked away in an oversized padded / bubbled envelope. (and yes, I still take crappy pictures)
