I wasn't going to back and then I realized that the 4 deck tier winds up to £37 shipped to the UK which is £9.25 or approximately $14.25 shipped. I'm comfortable with that level so I've backed and a friend will be taking 2 decks off me.

So after read all the posts, I dicided to do some maths !!!
Comparing this project to Federal 52 (dispite the fact that Federal will be printed in much higher quality and is fully costumed), here is the comparation prices (this is just to serve as a guideline don't intend to create more conflit):

So basically the creator doesn't want that international buyers buy only 1 deck! Because if you do so, you will end up paying for international shipping and domestic shipping, is all profite for the creator, even if you buy 2 you'll be paying a lot for a bicycle deck!

To the creator: Please don't take it too personal, if I took my time to make this comparation is because your decks is really great and your're a really talented guy, and I wish I could buy it, but you have put the price too high!

Luckly a friend of mine also want the deck, so we'll be getting 6 (3 for each one) and this way we'll end up paying an acceptable price for this great deck!

So as a Canadian I would be paying for pricey international shipping beyond what CAN shipping costs, on top of domestic shipping. In CAN currency it is actually $25.95 for that single deck and $19.47 each at the 2 deck level, which is the level I often buy at.

In anycase BMP has showed us time and time again what the actual shipping costs are, and that to me should be the real standard.

I completely agree with this statement. I'm just so glad I'm in the US so I don't get screwed with the shipping. I think most people just don't do the research for what the actual international shipping should cost when they start their KS campaign, either because they're too lazy to put in the research and they just copy what other campaigns have charged, or they are actually trying to milk a little additional money through the higher shipping rates. (By the way, I'm just speaking in general terms, not specifically towards the Empire cards).

At the end of the day, it's about being treated equally, not about being able or willing to pay $20+ for a deck of cards (some people may think you're cool for being able to acquire a collectible, others may think you're just a chump for overpaying for cards, everybody is entitled to their own perspective). I get that we all know that international shipping rates hurt in the rectum, but there's no need to make it even more expensive than it already is.

The guy is the codesigner of the Arcane decks, and an ex-coworker of Jason Brumbalow.
There is no doubt in my mind that he will do his work perfectly from A to Z

This has been one of my concerns - will backers be put off by an NZ dollar pledge. I just have to hope not, I think it's a shame you can't run your projects in US dollars.

I would have liked to back this deck just to throw in my support, but with limited funds and expensive international shipping it was that or Federal. But the art and especially the coin I like.

I had no idea Kickstarter would be launching in New Zealand! I have no problems with pledging in NZ dollars, but there is some reluctance from our fellow UC members. Will you be launching your project on Nov 13, the first day of Kickstarter NZ?

Just to keep my US friends happy, my campaign is all US based. I'll be using the same US shipping co's as Lotrek. The only difference will be the little 'NZ' on the dial, KS wouldn't let me run in US play money unfortunately.
