Re: New Call of Chtulu Deck goes live tonight by Shane Tyree
Here is the sneak peek before it goes live: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/770 ... n=1cbfcb7c
Read the feedback section. It's pretty interesting.
Looks like we have a Dale Mathis reward at $13. "The Chosen" You get everything. I hope badpete69 goes to sleep soon. Guess I'll brew up some coffee....

LE might be interesting. Only different tuck so far.
I'm really hoping that Shane has it squared away with the copyright holders.

Re: Call of Cthulhu: The Writhing Dark - Playing Cards and T
I'm no fan of Cthulu and think it's a more overblown phenomena than zombies ninjas and pirates combined but I put in an early bird pledge just because the artwork is incredible. And because I want to be a Novitiate in the Esoteric Order of Dagon. Whatever that may be.
But if I didn't get in at the early bird level, I wouldn't be sorry I missed out at all and wouldn't have pledged.

Well im not thrilled by the deck this time. I believe that shane can do better, i sincerely hope he didnt rush this out just so he can lock horns with princess bride (which is looking more hideous by the day). Well that being said i wouldnt mind it if it was in petes position

Thanks for the support and the feedback guys. @volant sorry I lost you on this one man. There are some tweaks that might come down if I can make it viable cost-wise (colors, new and embellished tucks etc) but if it's a pass, it's a pass. Thanks for taking a look. Also there are going to be more chosen levels unlocking at Midnight (in different timezones) throughout the course of the project. Keep your eyes open. Grats again btw Pete 2 for 2!

Re: Call of Cthulhu: The Writhing Dark - Playing Cards and T
I hope the tuck for the limited edition changes so that it's noticeably different from the unlimited one. I don't mind paying $25 for a limited edition deck, but I want it to be obvious that it's LE. Changing the small words below the Bicycle logo doesn't make it obvious at all. I don't claim to know anything about the logistics of designing and producing playing cards, so I can't say much about how your funds would allow you to make a significant change in the alternate tuck, but I do remember that Nat Iwata, the creator of the Steampunk Pirates deck, offered a significantly different tuck from the get-go. It was embossed/debosssed with foil and was offered for $17. He also had the same funding goal ($18,000), so it seems possible. I'm not saying you should do the same thing, but it would be great even if a drastic change in the LE tuck would become a stretch goal or something.Shane_Tyree wrote:Thanks for the support and the feedback guys. @volant sorry I lost you on this one man. Re: Call of Cthulhu: The Writhing Dark - Playing Cards and T
Hey man. So couple of things and maybe it was my screw up cause someone else already mentioned what you just did there. I wanted the tucks to be similar, the limited to be the continuation of the first illustration. That said you're right, the palette for both is the same. Just the details that are different. I think it would be wild to have the limited embossed, so the tentacles lashing out of the ace are in relief, as are the eyes and mouths inside it. We'll see, it's not doing too bad so far, but I don't want to put my foot in my mouth.Sher143 wrote:I hope the tuck for the limited edition changes so that it's noticeably different from the unlimited one. Re: Call of Cthulhu: The Writhing Dark - Playing Cards and T
Oh man, stupid me. I think I've been staring at the computer for way too long. I thought the main difference was just the words below the Bicycle logo, but I see the faces and the tentacles now. Yeah, I dunno... you'd think I'd notice the faces and tentacles first, instead of the words, but my mind surprises me sometimes. I don't know how I missed that.Shane_Tyree wrote:Hey man. Now that I know the difference, I take back my earlier comment. Your limited embossed idea sounds awesome, though.
Re: Call of Cthulhu: The Writhing Dark - Playing Cards and T
I'm backed @ the limited edition level for now unless/until something exciting opens up
Congrats on launching the new deck campaign btw, I really hope these puppies get some color added to em.

Well, I was close. Good on you, Pierre! And the deck IS 90% funded before I can get my second cup of coffee down, less than 10 hours: should be funded by noon at the latest. Congrats, Shane!

Oh, so you got a buddy in there with you in "The Chosen" club. How did you get in there so fast? Is it true you have a T3 connection? Does it make a difference? Or do you have some Amazon payment script thing? Yea I'm jealous.
