As always this is shaping up to be a very nice looking deck....here I thought your next project would be based on Canadian currency. The Fed 10 deck

I put together some more studies, really focusing on the designs and how they look in fans. I also adjusted the King just a bit, I made him a little younger and not so ugly. Let me know what you think, I labeled each image so you could point out each design easier. Thanks guys for you input.

My favorite is A1

Oooh, I like these! A1 is definitely attention grabbing, but B1 really drew me in with the 'glow' the brighter red gives off. It's almost not a fair comparison to throw the bordered version in there as well, hehe. The bordered versions just don't look nearly as nice in a fan. That said, I'd back/buy any of them. I do kinda miss the king's previous nose though, the broken look made it seem like he earned that crown the hard way. :D

I have a feeling The King's Wild project will result in two decks being printed. ;)

A1 and B1 are both incredible. If I had to choose only one, it woul be A1.
The new King is pretty good. Still seems he has a bit if a lazy eye, not as prominent as the first sketch though. I prefer the more narrow eye over the wider one. The narrow eye makes him look more determined, the wider one makes him look rather sad or confused.

I prefer the backs with borders, so A2 for me, A1 actually looks like tuna sashimi XD

I'm kinda liking where B1 and B2 are going. Not sure I care about borders at the point. I just think the bright circular designs should be moved toward the corners, if not all the way at the corners. Otherwise it loses a lot in the fanning.

Like the new younger king. Makes him look like he could do more damage with that sword ;)

I love the borderless look - B1 stands out for me.

The king still looks great, but I loved his slightly wisened look. Especially the suggestion of a broken nose - A battle hardened KOS fits really well!

I also like A1 best, then B1. As I have said earlier: There just isn't enough colorful borderless decks out there. Especially compared to how many bordered ones there are. That said, I would also buy any/all of them.

I like the stand alone of B1 best, but the fan for A1 but just to much going on when it is by itself.
if you can add some form of design elements into the B1 cornors it would have it all.

Fanned, I like B1 the best followed very closely by A1.

Unfanned, though, I like A2 the best.

Just to say that not only can you not please everyone, you can't even make a choice that's best for a particular person! ;)

And lovely work on the King. That's a very nice redesign and both stays true to the classic format but at the same time has its own definite look.

I like him, but I don't disagree with the changes either.

Aged kings would create a stronger contrast between their characters and the jacks'. Old guard/new guard sort of thing. Which is not out of the ordinary in a standard deck.

And the young kings would give it a completely unique tone for how the courts relate to each other visually.
How young and matronly should the queens be? Do the Jacks then become teenagers? Or are they young men, able to knock the king off and take the queen for themselves? Or are the Queens the ultimate bad-asses that rule the court? ...too much?

I know I'm over thinking it, but I'd kinda like to see all that explored. ;)

I'm good either way. But there's definitely a choice to make for the tone of this deck, starting here.

A1 or B1 all the way. Boarderless decks just can't be beat when done right. Now when they are fanned A1 it has more flow, stand alone just the back, B1 for how the light color brings you into the center of the card. A1 by itself is missing more dark color as B1 missing more light or softer color, but when fanned they are perfect the design they are ment to achieve. Just my 2 cents, I'd buy both A1 & B1 right now I like them.
Thank you,
Jeff

I'll go for whatever you choose!! Although I'm a fan of bordered decks! They don't need to be white, as long as the border color matchs the face color!

i like A1 and A2 - they are brighter and they appeal to me much more then the dark colors.
I also do magic effects where the back of the card will be signed and the signature will show up better on lighter colors (with a black sharpie of course).
The changes to the King are great. He looks much more vital now and i agree that this was a good decision.

My preference is for A1, one of the nicest full bleed back designs I've seen. I like A2 as well because the border, while not as stunning in fans, gives the deck greater utility. Plus, if you make the border of A2 thinner, it could look almost as nice in fans. The fan of the B1 deck vaguely reminds me of De Vo's Dominion deck in terms of color scheme.

I like A1, A2, and B1 the best.

Okay, I realize that doesn't help narrow it down *too* much, but it's something. Each of those three grabs me for different reasons. B2 is less awesome to my eyes, but I'd still buy it.

Love the way this deck is taking shape. And the new King is great.

A2 and B2 are really looking amazing. I don't like borderless designs very much so I prefer A2/B2.
