The Pokémon Thread

Unread post by MagikFingerz »

Anyone else who grew up with Pokemon here? I haven't played the last few games, but I pick up some of the old ones on emulators from time to time. The new X and Y games in 3D looks interesting, but the new Pokemon have been in a steady decline since the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald generation (in my opinion anyway). And I just found out about a new feature that's called "Mega Evolution", which REALLY makes me think that the Nintendo/Game Freak creative team is running out of juice. Sounds like a thing taken from Digimon from way back when.

Wow, this is the last topic I would have thought I'd see you post Magik. XD Can't say I grew up with them, I was already in my teens when Pokemon came out, but my younger cousins bugged me to play their games so much I eventually got sucked in. I also watched the show pretty regularly, but was already an anime fan before then.

Definitely agree about the newer games sucking, I haven't played any since Emerald I think. I think once thy hit 500+ it just got a bit silly, and they started seeming way too much like Digimon at that point. I'm actually a bit surprised they are still producing new games, seems like it would have dried up years ago.

You better believe it, sister! 8-) I guess I wasn't as young as I should have been to get hooked on them, but it was still damn fun. And yeah, I also followed the anime series for a while.

Btw, if you want some nostalgia, search youtube for Pokemon Reorchestrated. It's full of remastered music from the first games.
