Based on the details he has shared, I expect this to be a lot like House of Seven Gables.

these are...fine

probably going to run afoul of my "no metallics, no buy" rule though.

I do like the red gilding and backs though.

It looks alright. He strangely shows different cards from each deck for comparisons, differences? Maybe I misunderstand it but it seems like he wants to show how the artwork is different between the decks but compares as an example ace of hearts with ace of clubs. I probably didn't examine the campaign closely enough.

Definitely a very talented artist but I’ve never enjoyed his themes (Vikings, etc.), this one is definitely my least favourite for sure. Would be cool to see a lighter themed deck from him.

I like the style and theme, and I pledged for the Scarlet deck. I would actually prefer a non-gilded option, however, for consistency with Nicolai's other decks.

The Scarlett deck has the more appealing tuck because there is some color and since the art is so similar between the decks, that is the version I prefer but none of the add-ons interest me. I typically don't back ks unless I get multiple decks.

I read Werewolves, I spy WEREWOLVES, I AM SO IN!!!

It's odd that this campaign has no coins, as in the current deck's coin.

I think coins aren't selling well. There are a lot from older projects in add-ons

I think you're right. Nicolai and Marianne/Isolated Thunderstorm typically have two coins per campaign. I have a handful of their coins alongside several from TWI, but I just don't have the inclination to collect them all.

Lets see here... Such a cool theme!
Proven track record, no items locked behind paywalls, realistic funding goal, responds to backers, no ten color variations of the same tuck, extremely intricate and ambitious artwork, gilding ... a lot to like here!

Completely agree about the non-gilded option. It's very nice, but also pricey at $25 per deck. I'm going to have to go for just 1 deck and the booklet. I like Nicolai's art and the lore enough to justify the booklet.

For those who missed it, the Backs, Aces and face backgrounds are different, the courts are only different with names missing from the Scarlett deck.
The card fronts have different color schemes and ornamentation. Just like the tucks, card backs and edge-gilding, the aces are also completely unique in the two editons. It is also a very noteworthy difference between the decks, that only the Ravenclaw edition shows the name of the characters, while the Scarlet edition courts don't have these. Choose the variant that appeals to you the most - or both!

$44 for a gilded and unique pair is pretty good honestly.

Sounds like you might want to check out his florus drama series then, if you are not already familiar with it.
