I believe that these repeated phrases, besides representing a military culture within their fictional universes, have their origin in the 21st century reboot of Battlestar Galactica. So say we all.
I desperately need to rewatch that series. It hooked me from the first episode.
Congrats to Chris for an incredible start! Let's crank up the flute and pull some more victims into the campaign

Which in turn was just the Exodus-inspired sci-fi way of saying "Amen"

But… I think I just heard that music…. And it’s… telling me that the Heirloom Edition is coming to lure us
I think they're staggering the unlocks so they don't drop all at once since we blew through so many goals in the first few hours - Topher
Topher is correct. - Chris Hage
Saw this on the update comments and wondering, what does this even mean? What are they trying to accomplish by doing this? Ain't we normally excited to unlock stretchgoals to boost the backing even faster?
He wants to spread out the pledging and keep people engaged throughout the campaign. If you wanted to set it and forget it, you could pledge a higher tier.
There's certainly a psychological advantage rather than having all the stretch goals unlocked as soon as they're hit in the first day or so. Then the project stagnates, people have more time to think, and you can lose pledges.
Should that be advocated? Give them less time to think in order to make a sale... not that I necessarily believe that is the strategy or that it even works.

Think I personally prefer it as opposed to it releasing on one day and then if you’ve missed it then tough luck because it’s sold out immediately… plus I think we’ll have a few days anyways which would actually be enough time for me. Probably makes it easier for Chris so he doesn’t have to keep creating new things (which after this campaign fair enough).
I support the idea of unlocks during the campaign. Having come from a decent number of not-card campaigns it floors me that for the most part projects could just be about 3 day projects and not lose more than about 10%-20% of their final total most of the times since everyone just gets in at the start and then...nothing. The normal pattern is more of a U at the start and end.
Periodic Unlocks during the campaign bring in more money and keep people thinking about the project.
Im a bit less of a fan of having stretch goals in day1 pledges though, as it can tend to cause some loss of funding at the end if those goals aren't made and people start backtracking on those high pledges. We've definitely seen this with TGW campaigns.

Totally agree and this was something I thought from the start. As well as this those hackers would then lose any EB bonus they had surely?

Yeah, I had pledged the 3 decks + box as an early bird, but now if/when the Heirloom edition is released and I switch tiers, I'll lose out on the early bird incentive. If Heirloom edition will be available as an add-on and makes more sense to go that route financially, I'll choose that.
Reading the last few posts is like you were all in my head as I was planning this campaign. Pros and Cons to the different structures, but at the end of the day, I did not want a 30 day campaign that sits idle for 29 of those days. There are campaigns active right now that have been going for a couple of weeks with zero updates or engagement. That's not how I do my campaigns. I like to be on this crazy ride with you all! I was commenting to a neighbor this morning (another Wondercraft Insider who also helps with huge fulfillments) how the campaign has only been active for 5-6 days but it feels like a lifetime! It's easy to get impatient as a creator and start pumping out reward after reward at the beginning and then you're spent! The Kickstarter algorithm suggests to NOT do that. Like others have said, non-playing card projects spread their stretch goals out like I'm doing. As for including the stretch goals in the tiers...I didn't want to be overconfident, but I was willing to pay for these out of pocket if it came to that. Thankfully it won't come to that! Plus spreading them out like this adds some intrigue.
For the people who did not pledge for the higher tiers, but pledged for the EB The Promis, you'll still come out financially ahead if you do the high tier pledge (If I did the math right).
I pledged an EB Promise but tbh 120$ is a lot for 6 decks even with the single collector box, path marker and stickers. I am also unsure because I've been on the fence with the gold gilded variant. It's not really to my taste. As far as design goes, I would have been happier with the Heirloom edition instead of the gold gilded deck that has the same cold foil cards as the standard, and even more so satisfied if the Pied Piper edition was available. I am extremely curious about the legacy deck but with the forewarned price of 50$, I am probably already out. There is still much time to be convinced to hold my place, so I will be optimistic for now.

tbh i’ve seen worse decks on sale for over $20 a pop.

Do you recon if I pledged in the first 24hrs for a tier that included the replica marker that I will get two of these?
None of the tiers have included the replica marker as far as I can see.

Other decks are not considered when I'm evaluating this project but people will come to their own conclusions. I am happy to see the project is doing well. Price points are just a bit off to me but not a deal breaker. For me, it's more of if I really want to pay for the gold deck(s) in order to get everything else. I could just downgrade to a single or double deck tier but that raises the prices. Idk. There are a few different ways for me to approach it and it's really still up in the air.

That is correct. The replica marker was not included in any tier for that very reason. Pledge in the first 24 hours and get it free. Pledge after that and it has to be added on.

Stick with us!
I’m completely biased, but regarding the 6 deck tier, this tier has been our most popular in previous campaigns. We usually call it Collector Box Plus 3 or some variation of that. Keep in mind, half of your cost is going to gilded decks that’s why it feels that way. But even at $20 per deck that’s a bargain for double cold foil (front and back).
I’ll share more soon on the Legacy deck, but I’ll just say here that A. I gave some clues in the last update and B. It’s not just a deck.
The Heirloom Edition - The Market Church of St. Nicolai
At the center of this edition is a beautifully illustrated card back featuring the Market Church of St. Nicolai (Marktkirche St. Nicolai), a landmark deeply woven into the story’s history. According to the legend, it is likely that within these very walls the parents of Hamelin were gathered to celebrate Saint John and Paul's Day, unaware of the sorrow unfolding outside as the Pied Piper led their children away. But the church’s role in the legend doesn’t end there. One of the earliest known depictions of the story was captured in a stained-glass window in the church preserving the memory of that fateful day for generations.
The Market Church of St. Nicolai stands as more than just a backdrop for the story, and centerpiece for the town of Hamelin. The church itself is literally an heirloom, passing down the legacy of The Pied Piper from generation to generation.
The Heirloom Edition features an updated deep red tuck with two foils, embossing, and the Market Church prominently displayed on the back. The cards feature striking red hues and gold foil throughout including full bleed on the card back. The Heirloom Edition will be available on March 2 as an add-on for $20.
What's next and what to expect? - Heirloom Legacy Info
So that everyone can plan ahead and have plenty of time to prepare for the rest of the campaign, we have decided to only release two more stretch goals this campaign. The Heirloom Edition (March 2) and the Heirloom Legacy (March 9). That means anyone in the Lure of the Piper or Enchanted March Tiers automatically get these stretch goals in their reward package. Both will be available as an add-on as well. The Heirloom Legacy is something special (and expensive to manufacture) and therefore will only be a Kickstarter Exclusive. That means we'll produce as many as are pledged for in the campaign with about a 10% overage to cover lost shipments and damage. Once we have all the photos ready on the Heirloom Legacy, I'll share those in an update similar to this one. You can expect the Heirloom Legacy to be $50 each if you want to budget for that or switch to a tier that already includes it.

It's sounding like the legacy will be the heirloom deck and some kind of a stand or display.
Where is this information coming from? Are you basing it off "something special (and expensive to manufacture)"
I understand the campaign unlocking the stretch goals throughout the campaign to maintain some engagement throughout, but I don't understand the withholding of what's to come as some sort of mystery. Could be I'm merely impatient.
Perhaps it's this:

This is such a great campaign and I was so excited to see the heirloom edition but for some reason it isn’t grabbing me in the same way as the regular foil version. Not sure why, could be the back design, could be the colours but I’m excited to see what’s next.

Hmmm...I don't think I've shared the rat display anywhere but on my private Facebook group. In any case, that is not the Legacy Edition.
I would have thought for sure that the rat stand/display was it, if I had seen that before. My guess is simple with very little thought put into it. It was said to be more than just a deck and it has the same Heirloom name attached. So, gilded Heirloom with stand/display. Maybe a fancy fold out tuck that turns into the church, like the recent room one project 1001 nights or whatever it was called. Maybe a light up display with stained glass effect idk. It can be fun to guess. There is no rush for me to find out because of so much time left. I like the design of the Heirloom deck and would have preferred it to replace the gold deck in the box set, providing it was also gilded. I can't be 100% satisfied with ks projects but this one is still pretty high up there for me.
