For the people that stopped supporting his patreon after 2-3yrs, are they still to receive their patreon decks once he has them complete?

I thought you had to be an active paying member to qualify. Any further insight to this would be helpful to many.

Cheers,

Of course. If you paid all 12 months in a Patreon year, you're owed the decks for that year, even if you cancelled.

I look forward to the white Charmers deck. I'll also find the TOTT Prism sample card to show the front and back so you can see it, later or tomorrow.

I'm just annoyed that Kellar is MIA and I was at the completionist tier of his last campaign. I do understand that Lotrek's latest Charmers creation is a solo endeavor and has nothing to do with Kellar. Lotrek responded to my comment saying these decks were ready months ago and he hasn't had any contact with him.

Also really excited about the gift deck we've been teased. If anyone doesn't want their copy (who wouldn't?) I'd purchase a duplicate. At this point I think I have 3 complete sets of Redemption I-VIII.

Did anyone catch Mystery III's name? I've been keeping that one to myself for months now.

Ok I seen the name of the Mystery III deck, I googled the word and makes sense.

This is a card from ToTT Prism. I took two pics of the back to try to show the reflection.

I don't understand why they didn't to have holo on front (other than being the process being not feasible), the front I feel like Dynastinae looks better while back I like Prism's more . Do you have the Oath Prism Deck , is it possible to compare the back of the 2 decks . Also may I ask how much is the Holo shine different than Holo cards printed by Cartamundi , LPCC ,KSPCC and WJPC

This morning I seen only 200 Alasbaster decks which means that half of them have sold. I like the original green and purple decks which haven't sold out from years ago. Maybe people aren't feeling Charmers like that or just spending their money elsewhere.

I love the original Charmers with the cold foil; they are some of my favorites for poker night. The Alabaster deck with its metallic ink doesn’t draw me in enough, despite the allure of exclusivity. I would rather save my money for Lotrek’s more impressive work; something that makes me gasp when I hold it in my hands.

As someone who invested in the top tier of this campaign, and eagerly anticipated the crown jewel level of hot foil that was promised to adorn the Prism Edition, this whole deal really left a sour taste in my mouth. I even splurged for a Prism uncut; I was so excited. I guess I’m still not over it. According to the original kickstarter campaign (in Update #7), the faces of the Prism Edition were supposed to “include gorgeous red, gold and prismatic foil.”

I’m only speculating here, but with all of the delays created by the problems printing the Dynastinae Edition, it seems that some compromises must have been made with the Prism Edition in order to fulfill the campaign before Omar went broke waiting on Lotrek. This was never addressed within the campaign, or really at all from what I’ve seen. Last time I mentioned this here, Omar did comment with something to the effect of “ask Lotrek about this,” which led me to surmise that there was likely some friction behind the scenes regarding this issue.

IIRC, the Prism face cards were never teased before fulfillment, and since its eventual shortcomings were never addressed through any of the campaign communications, I was anxiously awaiting a magnificent reveal when I received my rewards. Needless to say, I received the opposite. Not a great look for a brand that upholds an image of the highest luxury. I still love TGW, Lotrek, and even the TOTT Prism Edition. But, I can’t help feeling incredibly disappointed and short changed by how this played out.

I keep imagining how killer the TOTT Prism courts would look if all the red was foil and the background was a patterned holo foil on top of that pale blue. I know it’s a long shot, but maybe Lotrek could work out a deal with Omar where this deck was printed exactly as it was originally envisioned and make it a year 4 or 5 patron reward. That would make me one happy camper! Maybe they could make good and surprise the original 200 Prism backers with a copy as well? How cool would that be?!

I sent Lotrek a message on Patreon suggesting this. Probably unlikely, but it can’t hurt to ask!

Welp, from the latest Patreon update it sounds like there are more issues with Mystery III and it'll be delayed further. I was under the impression it was finished printing, but either that wasn't quite true or he discovered issues with what was printed. We'll apparently learn more on a future update.

Mystery III Update via email:
Hi all and happy New Year, although I'm not bringing you the best news...

In the past, I have reprinted decks for all sorts of reasons: Problems in printing, issues with the varnish, mistakes with the index numbers, or just because I wasn't very pleased with the result.

As you may already know, production of the deck has finished and nothing of the above happened. The deck is spectacular, handling is awesome, visually it is exactly as I hoped and I could never imagine that there would be a serious problem lurking in the paper, ready to present itself during the final cutting!

At this point, I have to reveal a bit of the deck: The main difference from the Craft Edition is -apart from the stock used and the brightness of the new print- that the foil is full bleed on both sides:

For a reason I cannot explain, when the cards are cut, the foil is "breaking" at the corners just like the photo below. Not all the cards in a deck but many of them, completely randomly.

Meanwhile, (and here is the MYSTERY) the same stock without foil is NOT breaking! Also, other decks that I cut the same day with the same tool and were full bleed on both sides as well, DIDN'T present that problem. So, there is something in that stock which doesn't allow full bleed on the back side.

It took me several days to digest it and decide what we should do. Obviously, we cannot send you such an expensive deck cut like that and unfortunately, I am obliged to print it for a third time.

This is not debatable and although it's not the news you were hoping for, I believe that you understand that there is no other choice.

The only thing that is debatable is whether I'll reprint on the same stock non-full bleed or on a different stock full bleed. I'll have to decide about that in the next 2-3 days after we make a couple of tests so that we won't have surprises in the end.

I am going to the press next year. Don't be scared, I mean in a few days!

We haven't cut all the existing decks, so I don't know what we are going to do with them. We continue to try to find a solution but no matter what we've tried, the result is more or less the same, so there is no much hope there...

I am very sorry I'm bringing you that kind of news one day before the New Year but you probably know that we are never cutting corners (pun intended) when it comes to quality of what we offer as an Official edition.

And, for those of you who wonder "why on earth there are always problems with your production" the answer is simple: Because we always try new things that nobody has done before! New ideas, new techniques, new materials, therefore new problems...

So, with the promise that I will be updating you regularly about the production progress, I'm asking you for a couple of months more. Meanwhile, we'll let you know what we are going to do with the existing decks.

Thank you so much and have the greatest time with your beloved ones this New Year's Eve!

Lotrek and Melina

P.S.: I'm kicking myself I cannot show you more pictures of the deck. There is so much to see, that makes it worth every delay!

The white ink with the full bleed foil reminds me of the Arabesque error tuck. Really looking forward to seeing how these are going to look in person!

I don't blame him for not creating a new plate with each delay. Better late than never! This one is definitely a refined revision of the gold/silver in Redemption I, which to be fair, we got early 2023.

To be clear, not blaming him for not changing, just commenting that is sums up him perfectly. All the intention to deliver in 2022 but due to issues and perfectionism it takes 2 more years. Again, it's just him and you know what you get with him (at least if you've been on UC for any period of time). I was ok with it for a number of years and now I'm not. Why I'm no longer a Patreon member of his and probably won't back future KS. I'll limit myself to purchases in-stock if any.
