Journey, Ægis project launch
Hello there,
i hope you are all well and that 2025 starts good for you!
i am happy to announce the ægis project is coming to an end, and that i am now preparing launch through a kickstarter.
The idea will be to define 4 steps for retribution, from a single deck (around 30$) to the deck + goodies (riso cards, tshirts…), to premium versions of the deck (around 60$ i believe).
I create the thread now because you always have to anticipate these things for them to work best, and link some pics of the alpha batch for those who would have missed them.
I will be of course very happy to answer any and all questions regarding the project here, if ever you have some additional ones i did not answer on the drafting board thread
have a nice one

Please don’t do these back and forths on posts here. It crowds up the page.JazzBaloo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:11 amDid that really ruffle your feathers?Strag wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 3:47 amPut the resident troll on ignore and you will find your quality of life here will improve. All good with me. Guy doesn't say much but the troll stuff. Would be great to discuss what his issue is but if not that's just as well.whatwillitbenow wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:37 amPlease don’t do these back and forths on posts here. Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
hello there, for today's news!
first thing first, a reveal of the first cards, the two jokers. They are the musician and the acrobat, and are setting up the show to come, where you'll discover (or enjoy if you know them already) mythological figures from along the silk road!
i am sorry for the weird compression, I can't seem to make it look better on the forum...
Other than that, more quotes have been made and the ks page is now on its way, i will of course give you a sneak peek when it'll be almost ready. In other news, I think I've picked my photographer and mostly designed the shooting set.
Have a nice day!

Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
We can see the cards here better. Top down shot showing everything (except under overlap) is the way to go. Are these from the photographer or maybe your phone... regardless, it is better this way.

He’s been posting his progress online. I’m assuming this is what they’re referring to.

Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
Daily update:
-we went through the shooting planning with the photographer and plenty of things are shaping up! Our shared planning might cause a small delay with launch but i am pretty confident it won’t at the moment
-quote for unlimited batch and all the prep for it has been going quite well despite the double language barrier
-ks page preview is available and i think it starts being shaped up quite well. Of course many pics are missing but most text content is there. I welcome all feedback on it
Attachment pic: two color proof print of the cards. I’d like to print the unlimited version with these

Looks sick. is there a link for the kickstarter page or is it still being worked on?

Hello there! There is a link for a preview of the kickstarter page on the drafting board topic. You are very welcome to check it and give me feedbacks about it.whatwillitbenow wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:28 amPyramid.ink wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 4:46 am Daily update:

The pics will be hopefully shot in two weeks, that will depend on the availability in both our schedules with the photographer (but it is supposed to go that way at best). After this part i believe all will be ready!
I am also expecting more answers from the manufacturer to precise the last details

Hello there!
Things to prep launch are going well, i am very hyped!
I reworked the ks again but i think that everything (except the much needed pics) will be done by the end of the week!
As a treat, a quick pic of some value cards that i did not show much!
Have a nice one and see you soon

Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
Can I suggest that updates are simply posted on the launch thread from now on - we are getting a lot of duplication and the project is no longer simply a draft

Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
Fun and quirky. Reminds me of some 70s and 80s designed stuff. Cards look great so far. I’m not feeling the tuck box at all though. Black stock with diffraction foil looks like the run-of-the-mill tuck box every second card project is trying to sell to the community for unfortunately years now.

I did not see many of them all around, and feedback about it was overwhelmingly positive.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 7:05 am Fun and quirky. Reminds me of some 70s and 80s designed stuff. Anyhow, there will be two other tuck boxes avalaible with red and blue foil if it really rub you the wrong way.

Re: Journey, Ægis project launch
Hello there!
I hope you are well! So about the project i have some fresh & crispy news: we finally did the shooting!
It was quite intense but we managed to get a few good shots! The last two days have been heavy on postprod. We should finish on friday with some video editing (as we had quite the limited setup it is not certain i will end up using them though).
I can’t thank enough the photographer/set designer who lended a hand on this, i had never hoped the renders would be so nice. Big thanks to other helpers, such as the nail artist and the person who recommended them to me. Finally another thanks to the photographer who found a cardist friend to do us some tricks for the video, and to him for his time!
The ks is also set, everything is defined, pics are up and now i just have to wait for the delay for check ups before launch.
Stay tuned, it is imminent!
