Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
It is not a must have for me. I like my Metalluxe honeybees as it compliments the theme (I had a little crack at picking up another in a SoCal auction this week) but it is generally just for bling lovers

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
I really like these actually. Not a huge fan of metalluxe but I like what they have done for the 140th better than the 125th or 130th deck. The historic joker is great. I would place an order but can’t because bicycle cards does not ship to Canada. Would love to know if any resellers will be stocking this?

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
It looks ok but not enough for me to buy. Should be a blue version coming next.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
Not sure how anyone would be able to justify this price point for a very simple, self-produced, unlimited, non-innovative deck.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
I agree. What I also don’t understand is they keep changing their mind like twice a year. The ship international and then they don’t and then they do and then they don’t. I asked why and their response was that it’s due to issues out of their control. I seriously don’t get it.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
I would think if they could and it was a good business decision, they would. I don't think they would not deliver to a country because they do not like a country or they want to annoy and alienate its citizens. Their goal is to sell decks profitably.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
brownsl, I think it is like Cartamundi's decision to close down their custom cards division in Europe - it is not a big enough percentage of their sales and not worth their trouble. While someone like Amazon are always looking to grow their market (to make it profitable) - not so Cartamundi/USPC

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
Heads up/caution to everyone. I ordered 4 decks and they arrived today. They came in a 8x10x4 inch box and only a handful of large air pillows throw in. 1 of the 4 decks arrived with some notable dings. I'm surprised it wasn't worse, but I live very close to the distribution facility. They were pretty much just thrown into a much larger box than necessary with little protection from bouncing around inside.
If they did ship international, I imagine the condition upon arrival would be pretty bad given the packing my order received.
It not worth the hassle of complaining, but I won't order directly from them again. It was a surprisingly bad packing job. They did put a "Fragile" sticker on the box, so there is that....

This was a hot issue within the last 5 years. Management need to tell the employees that people collect cards. They make decks and send them to casinos, I would think those decks wouldn't be shipped any kind of way so they need to treat consumer packages the same. Employees need to get it together.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
Thanks for the heads up about the horrible shipping standards of USPCC, steampunk52.
Unfortunately though, there is little incentive for them to change anything when people keep supporting their ways.
Any staff of USPCC in this forum?
Surely there must be.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
What is odd, is that I got a package like that a while back. I did complain to them and they resent undamaged decks. But ever since, about 5 orders, the packaging has been fantastic.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
My two decks I ordered came without issues. Not sure what the gripe is about shipping. It did come in a box at least. Many use padded envelopes fwiw

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
In my particular case, it was that there were 4 individual items in a relatively large container with little dunnage to restrict motion of the items inside, nor did the individual items have protection like bubble wrap sleeves. Thus, they are able move largely free within the box. The allows them to collide with one another damaging the tuck cases. I have actually had well padded envelopes that served delivery well.
If it was bunch of standard Bicycle decks or Tally-Hos, I would think the packaging still a bit tacky, but ok. That this is an anniversary deck, would think maybe a bit more care? Im not losing sleep over it and as I said it looks like only 1 of the 4 decks took notable damage, but as a collector the little things matter - as irrational as that may be.

Re: Bicycle 140th Anniversary
That interesting. This wasn't my first order from them, though it has been a while. I dont remember packaging this poor. Maybe it just depends on who gets the order in the warehouse.
