[pyramid.ink] collection, homemade and acquisitions

Unread post by Pyramid.ink »

Hello there

I am pyramid.ink, a creative focusing on printed stuff and very interested by playing cards as a medium.
I have a very smol collection of decks because i lack space but i have some i really like for their concepts and lush prints.
Some decks i would also really like to acquire, for example the playing card set designed by Paula Scher or (one can dream) Sonia Delaunay playing cards set.

To start my thread, i wanted to present a peek of a deck soon to be released, part of the ægis project, which will (hopefully) become a line of playing cards. You can find some more about it in the project presentation section

See you very soon so i can introduce you to other decks i own

I looked up the Sonia Delaunay deck as I'd not heard of it before. Interesting backstory and certainly a solid contribution to custom playing cards. There is currently one (first edition, apparently there are two) with a minimum bid for £200 on eBay. No idea if this is a high or low price, but I don't think it's for me. The design just isn't one for me and I collect what I like. Can certainly see the appear however and definitely a piece of history.

Does Paula Scher have any decks other than the Just Type decks and does Sonia Delaunay have any decks other than the Simultane set? I have both sets and really like the Simultane decks.

If memory serves, I think Sonia Delaunay designed just one deck - a twin set with two different backs, first edition in the early 60s, then a second printing in the 80s.

Edit: Oh wait, I see Strag mentions them above. Steve Bacon has one set in his shop on RubyLane.

Edit 2: I looked in the Fournier catalogs to see if there was a listing for her but didn't see one. Doesn't mean there isn't one - it's not easy finding specific decks in that catalog.
