The Blue Ridge Relief by Wondercraft Cards

PRE-ORDER

Hurricane Helene caused widespread catastrophic destruction in the North Carolina Mountains, wiping out roads, destroying towns, and leaving many without essential resources. In response to this devastation, we are creating The Blue Ridge Relief Playing Cards to help rebuild these communities and provide life-sustaining food and resources to the residents affected.

Designed by Russ Gray, produced by Wondercraft, and developed by Kevin Reylek and Chris Hage, this deck not only captures the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains but also serves a greater purpose. 100% of profits from this deck will be donated to the vital relief efforts underway in the region.

The deck is currently being designed. We will update the website and this product listing with sketches and product photos as we get closer to production. Russ Gray is famous for designing world-class decks including Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Wars, and a host of other spectacular decks. With his artistic ability and our history of producing playing cards that spans nearly a decade, this is sure to be a special deck of cards.

It was awesome to meet Chris Hage and Kevin Reylek in person at the convention. The presentation, while sparse on visuals, really showcased their humanity and this project will be for a very good (and immediate) cause. Looking forward to learning more about the deck and I hope this is a successful one.

Chris and I are very grateful to the 52+J folks for letting us present this project at the convention.

The whole idea came together literally just before the convention started.

We couldn't be more thrilled or thankful that Russ Gray agreed to create the design. You know from his portfolio of amazing decks that this will be another incredible piece of work.

The devastation from Hurricane Helene cannot be understated - it is the most deadly US hurricane since Katrina. It will take YEARS before things are back to normal in the affected areas.

Please preorder if you're able, as this will allow funds to be sent to those in need ASAP.

We will share sketches/designs and other relevant info as the project progresses.

Thank you all for your support!

who the printer will be for this project? It might be advantageous for them to approach the printer for sponsorship or discounts. I truly hope they succeed in securing favorable terms.

The deck is being designed as we speak. We contacted Russ a few days after the hurricane hit and the devastation became apparent. He jumped at the opportunity to help and has committed to moving rather quickly on the design. He’s slotting this project in with his normal work which is extremely generous of him. It’s basically being designed on off hours and in between family commitments. Same with us, we didn’t have this deck planned so we’re doing our best in this short window of need and opportunity to make something great and help folks in the mountains.

Why is shipping so expensive? $35 CAD to ship 1 single deck?

It may be a good idea for wondercraft to figure out some reasonable shipping methods for international customers. Really work on it cause that will definitely without a doubt bolster sales.

$40us/$55CAD to ship 1 to Oz :o The postal service needs to be contributing to the charity as they are the ones profiting here
I think US shipping may be free if you order 4

Is it dependant on which state you're in? Mostly would depend which company and service you have access to but I wonder if state taxes vary greatly to make that kind of difference. Many can offer free shipping or at least much lower than others. Brian's Bargains is another one that is hurting for internationals.

Hello Evilgamer, There seems to be a misunderstanding between me and the Anti-Faro team. We may have the opportunity to print this amazing deck (of course with the lowest price possible), but we are still in the communication stage.

Just to clear up some things:

1. Depending on carrier services to your specific location, you can choose between USPS, FedEx or UPS.
2. As noted above, I do not set the shipping rates charged by USPS or the others.
3. If you don’t see reasonable shipping rates to your location, please send a message through our website to see if our customer service department (my wife) can find a cheaper rate. We will not negotiate or communicate officially through forums or social sites. Contacting us directly is the best option.
4. We are in discussions with Room One, who has been generous in their support of the project. We are also considering other printers we have relationships with as well. A decision on the printer will be made soon.

I don't see the need to use anything BUT PirateShip. They give you the best rates for shipping with multiple couriers.

I agree with others, I would suggest Pirateship or some other option. Seems i'm far from the only one turned off by the egregious shipping rates.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention on the shipping rates. Take a look now and let me know if you have any questions. We already use EasyShip (similar pricing as Pirateship) but our connection and integration were not working. That is fixed now, and you should see lower shipping rates for international orders.
