My avatar? It's Queen of Hearts Barbie designed by Bob Mackie, so the showgirl is not far off.
I collect Barbie dolls as well as Tarot and playing cards.
Thanks to felicityk I wont rule out becoming a Barbie collector
I should use my influence with the current Barbie design team* to suggest a series of dolls based on playing cards. Crossovers do very well for Mattel!
* A couple of them know who I am, after meeting them at the Barbie collectors' convention and other smaller events. This fact impressed at least one of my friends on Instagram.
I am wondering if you open 'a one only deck' does it cancel out the devaluation that occurs when one opens a deck - after all, there is no unopened version for a buyer to prefer

I think an unopened deck is mostly Schrödinger Deck of Cards. UNtil opened they exist in a pristine state, perfectly centered and complete in every way. Once opened the unknown is now known and possibly (gasp) have been played with!
Hmmm I can see what you mean in terms of any deck, I guess it applies to a 'one only' too - that it can be considered perfect unopened but once opened it may prove not to be. It will however always be a one only whether it is opened or not and that is probably its main attraction/value

In most aspects I think an opened 1 of 1 and sealed 1 of 1 have approximately the same value UNLESS the opened pack has some sort of deficiency and/or sign of wear.
I decided to try a modified Poker with a 5yo and 7yo Granddaughter today.
The only cards I could find in their house were the following
Larruping was a new one on me

Is there a backstory that I don't know about that would exempt this deck from a list of The Most Crass Decks Of All Time
52 people have it on their P52 Wishlist

I have put this in the Reseller Promotions and Offers section but knowing that many who may find this interesting do not visit that part of our board, I thought I would put a link here
I'm not keen on fontaines either but I don't need to belittle collectors who are. To each their own. Maybe 1 of the 52 people should come here to explain themselves to you. Perception is amazingly different depending on where one stands. No hate here or telling you what to do. Just an observation that can be taken any way one wants. Happy holidays to you also. Maybe next year more people can get on the same track.

Much love from you just doesn't ring true
The way you follow me around, if I get a little puppy for Christmas I will have to call him JB
He is adorable. I think you should do it. Maybe we can meet at the beginning of each week to coordinate which posts we will comment on and that way you could avoid me. The virtual world is not equivalent to reality and possibly not good for your well being at times. Hope things perk up

It is easy enough to avoid you JB - simply Block you
You know that "The virtual world is not equivalent to reality and possibly not good for your well being at times. Hope things perk up" comes across as not only insincere but also a little off

Ya it's a slight jab while remaining fairly civil in response to your less than positive comments. I'm in a bit of a silly mood mate. It's not that serious. What's wrong with wishing well on the holidays? I don't hate you brother. Don't let it get you down.
How $65 becomes $110
plus the Paypal conversion rate makes it worse
This was for 3 decks so at least I got some combined shipping (not that $35 is any bargain)
Most of us know this scenario well
The seller was great and did his best
ebay, the postal service and the government are the ones making the best money
I really have to avoid ebay!
