Are these definitely licensed? I know Brad claimed the same for a long time about the NASA deck as well - which turned out not to be.

I am not sure of the reason for the Suits Legend card - maybe to rank the suits?
If the suits bear no resemblance to traditional suits, I don't think people are going to be thinking traditionally and translating them
I would think it is a big risk to take in terms of sales

You might be right. Judging from preview photos on both deck listing - these two are just the start. And I can bet that there's is going to be the "Limited Edition" box set (which is also appeared in the preview, I think).

How can you be sure if that NASA deck isn't licensed? If that is true, then maybe that MTA 'licensed' decks aren't actually licensed at all.

It's so ironic: that Fulton is "THE OG DESIGNER", yet almost all of his 'precious' decks are mostly just arranging 'licensed' artworks and/or ripping off from other copyrighted stuffs. I.E. NASA deck courts are arranging artworks from NASA archives (as he claimed) - THIS Monster Cereal decks just arranging the characters for the entire deck - Arcade decks (both the OG and the recent Foiled) are using stuffs from Nintendo classic Shooting Game - That Mall Run deck, turning iconic OG Playstation logo to brandish his highness name.

A box set would be really tempting...but not at $20 per deck. I'm questioning my desire to buy even one.

I know right! That old geezer loves to do this kind of BS…
First, he lured you in with: “get these two firsts. VERY LIMITED”, and you bought them. Then suddenly, TADAAA, there’s the set.
Same thing happened with SnM 15th Anniversary (which is designed by Kowaleski, BUT His Highness just slap his brand instead of the actual designer)

I KNEW there’s Gotta be that Box Set, along with the other Characters decks THE MOMENT we saw the previews in Count Chocula n Creepella. Probably, he gotta say: “You ONLY get the remaining characters IF you bought the box set”, and and in not so distant future, the remaining be released individually

These are pretty horrible in every respect. If they were USPCC and 7.99 than fair enough but $20 a pop with the same courts for each deck and even the same background on each court card is just a lazy cash crab for Halloween. And fifty bucks for the gilded... Chinese companies must offer gilding at a nice price for people to really make the most of excessive profit margins which is why we see so much of it. I guess it's for people who think OPC decks just aren't basic enough.

Yup… just layouting whatever images provided by General Mills…

“Halloween is my FAVOURITE holiday” ~ OG Designer

Right… because that is when you get to release MAAAAANY DECKS within a month. This year’s October, he managed to released 36 decks!! That’s the Monster Cereals, 6 of different backs, and the Nightmare on F***n Street (the gurls are creepy): Standard, overpriced Signed decks, and 4 different GILDINGs each

Favourite holiday because he gets to shower in moolahs every October

You and I have had discussions about playability and I think my definition is looser than yours. That said, if you have to have a separate card detailing which pips are which, then it doesn't really seem playable to me. I'm in agreement with you here.

That makes 210$ for a complete set

Just the “super entitled designer” using General Mills IP for his many many Halloween releases since “it’s my favorite holiday”

20$ per deck, just a VERY simple two way back, and the courts are ALL THE SAME for the different 6 characters.

First wave: he released Count Chocula and Crepella in Standard, AP, and 4 different gilding each
Second wave; he released the remaining characters (after assuming some already get the first two), and the “Limited Edition” setbox containing all 6 of them
Third wave (now): he released the ALT tuckbox variants, which are still same cards, but got “beautiful” tuck boz and seal, “very limited and very special”

It’s very VERY annoying marketing BS that he keeps cooking from year to year:
1. Like, why don’t released them all at once?
2. Why not choose for one design for the tuck box and seal and have them all the same design.
3. Why not a deck have the respective character Instead of making them all different in one deck, which then all decks adopt them, making just different backs, same faces.

As much as I don't care for Fulton's decks, it's not rocket science to see that he's running a business with the intention of maximizing profits. And if he's licensing IP from General Mills for their updated cereals line (the decks actually have a parallel cereal box at the grocery store with the same artwork), you bet he's discussed the releases with them and gotten their approval. These companies don't mess around. Even Jackson needed every little thing approved for Lord of the Rings, and look how many versions came out of that as a result.

Do I agree on how he went about the releases? Not at all. But that's why I don't buy his decks and just move on. It's not worth getting so mad about.

yup, still bitter about Arcade - pretty though the box may be, the “ultimate homage” it is not ;)

Anyone who buys a Fulton deck is only contributing to continued medioctrity. Amusingly at first I thought this was Fontaine and started to write it out that way, hard to differtiate different pieces of crap I suppose.

Fontaine had died out now, so no need to worry of it trying to be back on it’s feet, because…. During their shining times, they keep hitting their own legs…

Now, it’s this “OG Designer” time to shine to just keeps pushing and pushing and pushing “awesome super duper limited decks” for overprice tags… I have no idea why he called himself “OG Designer”. Is he like… the VERY FIRST GuY ever to create custom deck before everybody else in the community? Or it is some “superiority complex” of his so to feel he felt belonged to the community? From what I’ve seen, he rather doing cash grabs stuffs rather than making something so impactful.

I guess… it’s like a movie series… when one baddie is done, another baddie that is higher level of baddie will eventually rise

Haha fair point. Hyperbole will be the death of me. It is indeed just my opinion and far from the only correct one.

Clearly Fultons do very well (and I have to say I unfortunately have several decks of his from the early days of collecting) and its fair to say they aren't going anywhere any time soon, regardless of my personal opinion.

Zach is around my age so good on him for getting licenses to things he's nostalgic about and grew up on. The Nickelodeon set is one of the few decks of his I have for that same reason.

This is what I can't understand either. Preeeetty sure there's a long list of designers that fit that name more than him. Makes no sense.

Someone gave my family a box of each of the cereals. You would think it would be hard to mess up sugary cereals but somehow they managed to do it. I tried a small bowl of two different boxes and both were gross (and not in a too-sugary type of gross, just a bad flavor and texture). I'm not even sure my kids could finish them off. Not sure if that says anything about the cards but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth towards the whole marketing campaign and products.
