I mean I backed a video game announced in 2012 that still hasn't left beta, yet has over $700M in funding and growing.mulrich wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 11:27 am As someone very new to the card hobby this saga fascinates me. I can't think of many other situations where a small business could be years behind on delivering a product yet customers maintain their subscriptions. I probably would have lost hope after two years and canceled. Looks like the faith placed in Lotrek may soon start paying off but in 99% of similar situations the companies never deliver.

Posting it on IG is maybe more important for advertising to potential new patrons.

900M?? The largest KS campaign was a Brandon Sanderson project and it raised a whopping $42M! Crazy.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I went back and looked, its *only* at $724M I hadn't kept track of it the last few years its Star citizen/Squadron42.
How did it get there? selling virtual spaceships $30 to $2500 at a time (yes $2500 is the highest I know of).
The multiplayer game has been playable since 2015 I think it is (though only 2 of the 100 promised star systems are in game), but its still an alpha and the single player game (SQ42) isnt available in any form.

This! Should I hang on paying $70 dollars a month for another year just to get a large print? It wasn't mentions of anything else. Besides first dibs or a free shipping code, I don't know what else.

There's literally no project that collected $724 million us dollars. Either you mean $724k (724,000) or it's $724 million of a different currency. https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/most-funded if you mean this https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cig/star-citizen then it collected $2.1MEvilgamer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:12 pm I went back and looked, its *only* at $724M I hadn't kept track of it the last few years its Star citizen/Squadron42.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Way I understood it, there would be a 5th year deck, and on top of that this foiled print. I'll ask him on the next Patreon post unless someone wants to message him and ask before then.Bikefanatic wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:40 pmThis! The ‘A time of reflection’ post does say this:
Implies that 5th year Patrons at reward tier will have a yearly reward for year 5 Plus the foil print for being active at the end of year 5 cycle (August 2025)

I never said that was its kickstarter total, its made $722M AFTER KICKSTARTER using their own site, while they've buried it now their site tracks it.bdawg923 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 12:50 pmThere's literally no project that collected $724 million us dollars. As I understand it the final year the higher priced years past tiers will go away and be replaced by a cheaper option.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
That’s how I understand it too, and I’m happy to pay like €10 a month for behind the scenes stuff and early access.
I was close to cancelling not because of the delays, but for financial reasons but I’m going to stick it out to the end or I do think I’ll regret it #FOMO

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
My understanding was year 5 that starts in October will still be the same as the previous 4.
The print is extra to the decks.
After year 5 the tiers will reduce

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Ye I think year 5 is regular pricing like it has been, with a deck, and a foiled print. Year 6 will drop the tiers and have like $5 tier

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
right, it's more important to advertise for new patrons than to keep your existing patrons informed. Right. Sure.
Maybe you don't have to have a contrarian take for everthing eh?
@mods would love it if you blocked someone they couldn't see/comment on your posts. Seems rather counter intuitive.
Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Lotrek mentioned Gilded Sanctissimus will be avialable for purchase on his website later today

I'm sorry that comment hurt you somehow. Maybe when you start from a position of bias, you see my comment as insulting to you. That was not intended.Strag wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 6:49 amright, it's more important to advertise for new patrons than to keep your existing patrons informed. Right. Sure.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Odd that there's been no announcement except an Instagram post with pictures of the gilded deck.
The foiled collectors version of Sanctissimus is expected to be a Year 3 Patreon reward, so this gilded version might mean he's messing around with Sanctissimus right now. I'd be curious if this tuck will be any different to indicate it is the gilded version.

Where did he mention that? I don't see any mention of it going on sale on his patreon or his Instagram.

I saw the Patreon post but there was no mention of cost. I wonder how much he'll sell them for?

There is no foiling on the cards, correct. That'll be saved for Patreon Year 3 rewards.
