They're typically $75-100. The Lord of the Rings Legacies were the $200 ones.

Well, I've decided I'm out. I've come to realize as nicely detailed as everything is, I'm just not that big a fan of Jackson's (standard?) illustration style (that regretfully incudes Lord of the Rings). I like him more when he's homaging other styles (Robin Hood, King Arthur, his money decks). Also, as I suspected, none of the "story" really translates to the cards and he ends up with (to my eye at least) generic western stock characters. I give him kudos for trying something different and for pushing himself creatively and I'll always be up for checking out what he tries next.

Jackson has turned to something like Gio to me - cool artist, capable of great decks but too many projects that use too similar art styles for me.

And to add a little context to the Claire attribute, day1 he said that Claire was better at drawing women's faces than he was so he's had her do that part, he draws the rest of the character, take the face off, gives her the rest to trace and then do her art on and then he imports it, and modifies it to his linework and match his style.
She's about 15 and Jackson says is already a better artist than he was at that point.

I think I'm right there with you. What appealed to me most about all the literary-themed decks is the different styles. Arthurian and Robin Hood are the clear standouts for me as well.wingedpotato wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 4:03 pm Well, I've decided I'm out. Re: Frontier Playing Cards by Kings Wild Project
I'm still in for pretty much everything Gio releases, except for the re-dos. Even though I might skip a campaign here or there, he has so many sales -- plus my Patreon discount -- that I always wind up with at least one deck from each project sooner or later. For example, Incubo didn't appeal to me with the one-way courts or the theme, but the completist in me eventually took over.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 5:23 am Jackson has turned to something like Gio to me - cool artist, capable of great decks but too many projects that use too similar art styles for me.

Re: Frontier Playing Cards by Kings Wild Project
Dang, I can only imagine a Kevin Cantrell/T11-style Liberace tribute deck. It'll take Lotrek level detailed hotfoiling to make it appropriate to Liberace, but most of us will not be able to afford it as it'll cost as much as an Azoth deck like Mercury Flower or Nameless Gem.

Lel, those two decks cost below $10 to produce. It´s just the price tag that makes them expensive.

Re: Frontier Playing Cards by Kings Wild Project
These are not KS exclusive decks. Jackson said on the livestream he only expected to sell about 150-200 which would leave him about 300 he otherwise would be stuck with if they were KS exclusives.
So maybe comes back in 12 days of Christmas or something (I guess maybe next year since the KS is due in feb 25)

So what is Jackson doing with this? Zero updates since it funded. That is shady AF imo and not what I would expect from Jackson.

Have you inquired with their team directly first? Seems a bit of a jump to say he's being shady given his proven track record of delivering decks.ShuffleUpandDeal wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 3:39 pm So what is Jackson doing with this? The original Estimated Delivery date is February. We will start delivering early in January. I'm glad I haven't had to post any updates. We didn't hit any snags with this project. We have the decks in the warehouse, I just didn't want to make my crew fulfill a Kickstarter right in the middle of Christmas.

Ok glad to hear it, updates would still be nice, most other creators do them from time to time, they don't just disappear. Also could have responded to my comment there after I made it. If this was any other creator y'all would've wanted updates.

I cannot see how Jackson can be criticized for not updating - just about every Wednesday of the year he does a Weekly Update video
