Looks like they might be doing some marketing/licensing in time for the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Just look at this beauty of an Xbox controller:

So, first of all, after seeing those controllers, I just died laughing.
Second of all, if they do even a halfway decent job on this one, this will be a MUST GET for me. You know, once they are on a nice holiday sale and my finances are more relaxed. But still. This is exciting.

Lets be fair thats one of the things they are using to market the movie itself.
mostly because they'd never get the actual phrase on primetime tv.
those controllers are definitely something.

These controllers are god tier. Deadpool deck… not so sure. TXI will manage to at least mildly disappoint with this release as well. I get that they’re in the get some easy money market but oh bwoi; with all their connections, liscences and resources, I wish they would be in the I’ll blow your fookin´n mind card nerd market.

Re: Deadpool Playing Cards by Theory11
Given that Ryan Reynolds is a marketing genius and is very hands-on with regard to his adopted pet IP in Deadpool, I'm going to hold out hope that *somebody* *somewhere* who reports directly to Mr. Reynolds is keeping an eye on the merchandizing and making sure that it is suitably unsuitable; that it is completely bonkers (like those game controllers) and well-designed.
So, yeah. I know that T11 can miss opportunities by a wide margin (I'm looking at you, 007 deck), but they've also managed to knock a few out of the park.
And if the images we finally see of the card faces is, in fact, disappointing... well, at least I can get my hands on those sweet, sweet game controllers and play out my anger in a few rounds of some addictive and violent video game.

Maybe I should have waited and ordered this along with the Obey and other decks. T11 still didn't ship my order from last Friday!! Why does it take so long?!

He also passed on getting paid for the first one, so he is very invested in the franchise from the get go

Re: Deadpool Playing Cards by Theory11
The decks are available. From the numerous pics off the T11 website, card art is kind of bland and the tuckbox seems to be missing the shine that T11 tucks are known for. Of course it will still be desirable for T11 fans and Deadpool fans. The Wolverine Kand the Deadpool K appear to be the only cards that have 1 way courts. This is possibly part of the marketing strategies that people spoke of.

Most of the articles that agree with the second highlighted statement would appear to be better sources than lifestyleasia.com

Re: Deadpool Playing Cards by Theory11
I've been following Mr. Reynolds' career in marketing as well as acting because, well, I do have some background in guerilla marketing (more on that in the PS below) and was intrigued when I first found out that Reynolds is allllll over marketing and brand development. If you're interested, Patrick Willems does a great video on his YouTube channel where he touches upon some of the aspects of his marketing career dominating over his acting career. This is not the entire story, of course, but it's quite well researched. Reynolds' control over the Deadpool marketing has been widely known ever since he managed to get that first movie made and, as noted above, deflected his salary to keep his own choice of writers on the set. He knew he was still going to get paid. That marketing stuff was in his contract.
In fact, the story of how he landed the backing for the movie is a masterclass itself in guerilla marketing.
Anyway, I had said above "Second of all, if they do even a halfway decent job on this one, this will be a MUST GET for me. You know, once they are on a nice holiday sale and my finances are more relaxed. But still. This is exciting."
In my humble opinion, they did a halfway decent job on this one. Totally, completely safe, but not dreadfully dull like the 007 deck. It's colorful and friendly, which is a nice comic-book thing to do that so many of the grimdark properties don't do. Nothing interesting or provocative has been revealed thus far, and I'm guessing this entire deck is completely family friendly and unoffensive in the way that those S-tier controllers are not. (Unless you consider the suicide King to be a little over the top, which is not an entirely ridiculous assertion, I suppose.)
So, yeah, I think the suicide King notwithstanding, this deck is really playing it as safe as a deck can given such a iconoclastic property as RR's version of Deadpool. But, it's nowhere near as dull (again, only based upon what we see here) as some of T11's other missed opportunities.
And, given that T11 *is* a commercial venture that makes a lot of money on licensed products and selling through outlets like Target, I really can't blame them in the least for playing this one a little safer than they might have. I mean, those controllers are SO AWESOME, but they will likely not make as much money as the standard camo-style Halo controllers that Microsoft has previously released. (That said, I'd be very happy to be proven wrong on this point.)
So, yeah, I'm picking up a few of these -- one for myself, one for my collection, and one or two as stocking stuffers for my kids. Prolly when I can get a little bit of a price break, of course. There's no worry of them running out of these Bad Larry's anytime soon.
Patrick Willems video:
PS: My experience in guerilla marketing includes trademarking the slogan "It Doesn't Suck." This was part of a successful strategy to get attention for our software development tools when we were competing with software giants like Code Warrior, Microsoft, Macromedia, and Adobe. Fun times. You may of may not find that funny, but it had the desired results, and the company is still in business and still owns the trademark. True story!

Meh... will get one for the tuck but that's about it. Halfway decent is in my book almost the same verdict as crap nowadays. If I wouldn't be blessed with a decent paycheque every month, I would easily skip on this release.

It is my understanding that both articles can be correct at the same time.
