Thanks strag for finding that. I too remember plenty of people offering pipchick help and now history got rewritten into she was doing this alone and begging for help and nobody helped so she quit and disappeared. Quite bizarre tbh.

Unfortunately, yes. Crickets.

I'll still throw out a ping here and there, but I really have no way to predict or anticipate what happens next. As others have noted, Alex has fulfilled the Limbo project with little fanfare from him before or after, whereas the technical difficulties we have experienced with UC we had to figure out on our own. On the other other hand, somebody somewhere paid a bill or two in order to keep the servers at Hostgator serving, and keep the domain name domaining, so the train is still running on its tracks for the time being. And, to be fair, that's all been Alex's doing.

As y'all who have been following the situation know, your humble admins and moderators (and super special friend behind the scenes) are making sure to do what we can to keep UC a going concern while Alex is otherwise unavailable, but hopefully we will regain contact with him soon and he and his family will be okay and we can all breathe a sigh of relief that all is well once again, and peace returns to the valley.

I have a feeling that the payments are set up automatically. I’m hoping they were done manually but my assumption is it’s a card on file charged at regular intervals until it expires or is cancelled.

Hoping otherwise though and that Blind Tiger is revealed soon.

I'm in that camp. The last reported (that I've seen) contact from Alex appears to have been mid-January. I and others have occasionally reached out, to no avail. I have absolutely the fullest confidence that if he can fulfill, he will. But, I'm becoming concerned the extent to which he is/will be in a position to do so. The fact that Limbo was delivered with very little heads-up suggests that this could still happen. No idea what's going on behind the curtain, however.

At this current situation:
Should I hear some heavy hitters screaming: "Can we please make out for the deckless NPCCD year by releasing 6-decks set for those?", I wanted to scream at them and say NO

We all really worry about Alex Chin... but then he just... didn't want to tell what's the problem with us. I don't know what to think anymore... I salute for the people who still affirm in thinking NPCCD 2022 will be fulfilled. I wanted to be patient as well - holding onto the principle of "it will come when it decides to come", but how long we gotta wait anymore? Don't know what future holds for NPCCD decks, but I wish for it to be "watered down" should it still continues.

Reminder that the funds for NPCCD sets (which are already quite a bit more expensive than other decks of cards) were supposed to go to support Portfolio 52. Clearly that's not happening. A LOT of funds were collected for this set which, aside from refunds, are unaccounted for.

I went all in this time and remain, stupidly, optimistic. I do hope he's okay.

I have no idea what is going to happen with the decks but I agree with Timmargh and I hope he's okay. I have searched online to see if I could find anything but haven't found anything, which I hope is a good sign. The community will lose a great creator if he doesn't come back but his health and life come first and I wish him well.

Alex has left a sizeable contribution to our hobby and I will always be thankful for that.

I felt weird cyberstalking him a few weeks ago but there isn't any recent activity as far as I'm aware, so it's not like he's abandoned the community and living his life outside of this realm.

Limbo's arrival definitely caught us all by surprise. This was a far more complex project so I'm not sure what the procedure looks like. I also don't know if he's having someone try to complete the project for him if he's incapacitated in any way.

I do wish him no ill will and all the best.
