So this half months update for the deck was a little concerning, not really on WW's part but for WJPC.
Seems that their project manager contact at WJPC left, without telling anyone, and without actually putting the deck into production..or passing the work to anyone else (literally the WW PM was expecting the cards to show up he said) . So rather than risk more misunderstanding they are going to basically start from near beginning with art and samples and be behind a month or two. I was a little worried that the volume that WJPC is getting now would start to cause things to go wrong I believe someone else had some quality issues with them recently.
Hopefully this wasnt the same guy that was working with Omar on his stuff with WJPC.
The only other issue with them I've seen is the one Montenzi had regarding product changes being done without consulting and quoted prices changing ( IIRC). This update by Wyrmwood in concerning though and hopefully doesn't lead to any other issues for this project or others.
Wait, did I miss something with that story? I thought Montenzi's WJPC issue was on him, not WJPC. My understanding was that WJPC reached out to confirm that he wanted the deck "like this" meaning the clubs were also spades. Assuming a language barrier issue, he consented and thus the mistake decks. I thought WJPC went out of its way to check his wishes. Could be wrong, but that's the gist I got.
I think everyone is confused if we are talking about Legendarium. That’s printed by King Star and yes Montenzi made the mistake. King Star tried to bring it to his attention but language barriers got in the way. It’s not WJPC.
Ahhhh true true, my mistake. I'm not familiar with the Montenzi-WJPC issues in that case.
He made a post here a month or so ago detailing an issue he had with WJPC.
From the House of Whispers thread,
"They don't like sharing quotes, but I know for sure that they don't have a standard set of quotes. When my representative was fired from the company, they sent me a new quote that was much higher than what I had before, assuming I was either new or perhaps naive. After that, I stopped using them. But next time, I will mention your info and ask them to provide the same prices."
And from Legendarium,
"There are also companies that are overly proactive and make changes without asking, and this happens frequently. I've had such cases with WJPC, where I was shocked by the changes, with comments like "it's better this way." Thankfully, these were caught at the approval stage."
