I'd be in if it weren't for the spot cards. Not my cup of tea. But I will sit on this for now.

This is a lightly reworked version of a deck done 6 years ago. I don't think there's any AI here. Plus, there's a couple pics of the artwork at various stages in the campaign.

Reworked with ai apps? What is "thematic augmentation" that sounds very ai-ishAdamthinks wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 2:13 pmThis is a lightly reworked version of a deck done 6 years ago. I don't think there's any AI here. Plus, there's a couple pics of the artwork at various stages in the campaign.

Not sure what they mean by thematic augmentation, but I compared it to the previous campaign, and the main artwork is practically the same.bdawg923 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 3:11 pmReworked with ai apps? The coins are more expensive than the cards, and are more interesting accordingly.

Re: Culminus Immortalis by Nicolai Aarøe
Was that written in the campaign? I can't seem to find it. Edit: I see it now. I'm not sure it indicates AI from the language alone.
I am currently backing the project but because I am iffy about it, will likely drop. I just went back to look at it and three of the "unique, cosmic runes" used to represent the court cards are letters from the Armenian alphabet. Pretty cool.

I like the Courts and one of the backs but the spot cards make it a definite no for me

Re: Culminus Immortalis by Nicolai Aarøe
Why don't we give Nicolai a break. He said he didn't use AI on the campaign in question. Didn't someone here on UC give it to an AI expert who did not see anything wrong?"bdawg923 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2024 3:11 pmReworked with ai apps? He has extensive experience and has produced so many great cards in the past.
His resume:
"I am a scandinavian based art director with 16 years of experience in the creative industry, happily married, and a passionate cards and coins connoisseur. A seasoned player in the field.
I am a contemporary artist and have a bachelor's degree in graphic design.
For the last two decades I have worked full time as an concept artist and creative lead for various video games, magazines, movies and tv.
Over the last 20 years I have studied art, culture and design globally, while working as an illustrator, photo editor, designer, software programmer, photographer and painter.
I've backed more than 100 projects myself, which gives me important insight and experience, not only as a creator, but also as a backer.
I pursue professionally what I love to do as a hobby and like to experiment with new ways of expressing my love for art and concepts with different techniques and approaches."

I found the evidence in that post compelling. He's welcome to use AI or not use it, the issue is if he is using AI, he's not honest about it.

That’s the other partner, Marianne Larsen XD
Agreed! After House of the Seven Gables, all I see is him twice going back to his old decks and remastered them. Sure, remastered editions are great for those who recently discover Nicolai, but for seasoned ones - the repetitive of themes can be boring

Well, the main added difference for me on the remastered editions is that they're using MPC for printing. So the cards will actually handle well.laitostarr777 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 8:19 pmThat’s the other partner, Marianne Larsen XD

Re: Culminus Immortalis by Nicolai Aarøe
Well said!!! Because he printed his remastered editions with MPC Beta Finish, finally get to fan his works flawlessly (although be careful, the cards are REALLY slippery - one time I attempted to fan, and the deck exploded on my hand)Adamthinks wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2024 8:21 pm Well, the main added difference for me on the remastered editions is that they're using MPC for printing.
