Re: Rhythm of the Soul by Hoa Phan
I like the card backs and the gilding, but that's pretty much it.

Re: Rhythm of the Soul by Hoa Phan
That sitar is not a sitar. That ukulele is not a ukulele.
The artist credited for this work has a portfolio that looks nothing like the art in this deck. While an artist can be versatile, usually one hires an artist because of their body of work, to have them then emulate it on a playing card medium. I'd say this art looks more like AI than it looks like the artist's own body of work.
At the end of the day, everything Hoa says or does, I take with a grain of salt.

If they are based in Vietnam, why is the campaign in Aussie Dollars?
The whole thing is just one note off.

I am really close to liking these, and I can ignore the errors pointed out by kevork, and maybe the currency issue by Strag, but I'm just not quite there.
I reserve the right to change my mind and say "Fork it, it's only £12" at a later date.

Whenever they release a campaign I shake my head in disbelieve. I can’t grasp that some find their decks appealing or would consider them good. But today I learned that the rabbit r1 made $20,000,000 in pre-sales so… people seem to love wasting their money for shit.

Re: Rhythm of the Soul by Hoa Phan
I wish he would just admit he's used AI on the last 3 projects of his. Hoa's projects have had an extensive history of copying artwork (Botanical, Tattoo, Royal Warriors) and he has since pivoted to using AI as a way to still make projects. He cites artists whose works look nothing like the projects he has been releasing and we're supposed to believe they coincidentally closely resemble the images various AI programs churn out? I'm sorry but the fact that his projects continue to get funded is quite disheartening to me. Yes, I understand AI is here to stay and is quite an effective tool if used properly. But don't lie to my face and expect any support from me. It's the blatant bs-ing I have an issue with.

I was unaware of all of that, except that it definitely looks like AI. I should pay more attention.

Re: Rhythm of the Soul by Hoa Phan
Let's remember what's happened in the past.
First, Stolen art
Then, he doesn't admit it
Then, he admits and cancels the project
After that, he used Ai to create

Interesting to see The Other Self's comments in DeepCard's post as he has been accused of using AI

Oh, really? Am I using AI? Yes, indeed. You see, I'm from Taiwan, and English is not my native tongue. So, to prevent any grammar or spelling mistakes, I rely on the assistance of AI.

He’s talking about “the other self” or Nicolai Aaroe and alleged use of ai in his decks.DeepCard wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 5:33 am
No one as far as I know has an issue with language translators.

I am sorry DeepCard for my post being somewhat ambiguous - I was referring to The Other Self being accused of using AI

I believe The Other Self made that comment long before he is now accused of using AI.

Oh, man.... it's funded....
Nothing we can do to stop it, though... At the end of they day, if some people are being loyal 100%, they would turn a blind eye - same goes with hype brands.

To like any of their decks you definitely would need to have two blind eyes...
