Fontaine Undercover Editions

A deck of cards for spies. Undercover Editions are a new category of Fontaine deck. At first glance they may appear to be a simple rectangle. Upon closer inspection, the Fs are discovered, covertly disguised.




Red Undercover and Black Undercover will release tomorrow [May 21, 2024] at 11am pst. Orders of 12 decks will be discounted to $10 per deck. This will apply in your cart if you have 12 of 1 deck, or 6 of each, or any other combo that adds up to 12 total decks or more.

Ah darn, the IG comments beat me to it about the NOCxFontaine collab. Well, he's got the whole spectrum to play with for this variant.

Also, he needed 2 people to help with the art direction? Really? Or just to convince him that this was a good idea and Alex won't sue?

I'll be so undercover that none will see me make a purchase. I quite like the idea though. It's kinda neat that a brand that is/was all about recognision and hype flips that concept.

One of the person, Lucas Mills, is offered for this deck, because last time, when Zach offload all those “thought to be sold out” decks, he uses Lucas’s renders without crediting him. As a compensation, Zach invited him for this Undercovers project.

And…. Its gotta be a storm of recolors all over again…. But hopefully it ain’t go crazy like last few years (or else the boy never learns)

He won't pivot further if people keep buying them

I suppose his change was to reduce his frequency of releases due to buyer fatigue and pushback. His brand was being associated with a lot of negativity.

I designed the Chillies backs to show you don't have to sacrifice creativity when creating a single colour back. Interesting to see Fontaine doing something similar but almost in the opposite direction.

I love the branding Fontaine has, I think what Zach has built is inspirational.

I would just love to see a brand that is so dominant in this industry do something a little braver.

Red and Black Undercover Fontaines are pre-orders, and are estimated to ship in 8-12 weeks. They will be printed at WJPC, on 300gsm german black core stock with soft touch matte tuck box.
