I am not a patreon so I was surprised I could see and read what I could on there.
Why is the $5 patron level limited/sold out - to coerce more onto the $25 level?
There is certainly damage that he could not possibly send out
Being Yr 1 rewards, I know these are a somewhat old project but Lotrek decks are all starting to look the same to me

Seems like he went with replacing Black Patrons as the main reward for Y1 , I really wanted that deck but let see what he does with the error decks . The Blue Prism Oath deck looks really cool!

At this point, I feel that I owe you all an apology: I know that I don't post as regularly as I should (or could) and of course the delay of the rewards is outrageous -even I myself am pissed off. The lack of regular updates is mainly due to the time I spend in printers and general in production which is draining my power and when I get back home I desperately need to relax. Sometimes, with all the fatigue of the day, just to write a simple update -although there can be a lot to share- looks like an unreal task. Don't forget that I'm not just a designer but I also take part in the production of the decks, meaning that I have to go from printer to printer, visit paper suppliers, supervise cutting and other various stages of the production, with all sorts of problems that may appear etc. Trust me, it's not easy at all, and there are times I wonder why the hell I am doing this.

But when I get results like the deck above or like the MYSTERY III that is currently under production, I say: "Ah, yes. That's why"!

As for the delays, these were really due to my perfectionism -which I'm not at all proud of- and has often led me to printing the same deck again and again until I realised that this is endless and I will never be 100% satisfied. Have I settled? No, I always try to get the best possible results and I continue being focused rather on what went wrong in order to fix it next time. However, there is a fine line between trying for the best and driving people crazy with multiple attempts to achieve "perfection". Such thing doesn't exist. It's an idea you have to pursue but you'll never get there. If you believe that you can really get there, you'll probably end up in a madhouse...

I am really sorry I made you wait for so long. Regarding the rest of the pending rewards, the waiting will be over soon, not because I'm really cured of my perfectionism but because during all these years I have finally settled on some printing methods and procedures that seem to have the best results with the least problems. There will always be some issues but lately, the rule is smooth production. This makes me very optimistic and I'd like you to rest assured that the endless waiting hell is left behind for good. I don't claim that I'll be super fast but all the pending rewards will be printed in very a reasonable timeframe. ....

Also, there are several pictures of cards from different decks and they all look quite wonderful IMO

Yeah Im bummed that I may not be able to get the black deck now, at least not at a realistic price.

I will say that the result of the white deck kinda don't bear out what he says about getting his production methods down there...but Im sure double_left will be along shortly to point that out.

I get so confused with these updates because there are so many decks owed. So black Patrons for year 1 members is replacing which deck? On my list I got. Patrons (golden tier) and royal patrons. Also there's a royal silk patrons edition which I assume is separate

I believe year one is Royal Silk (Red?), Gift Silk, and Patrons Year 1 v4.

Patrons Year 1 v1 became the test print deck.
Patrons Year 1 v2 became a redemption deck (I think).
Patrons Year 1 v3 (aka Patrons white) is the one that he is replacing with Patrons Year 1 v4 (aka Patrons Black)

There's more in the update itself that seemed very heartfelt.

Idk, I actually really resonate with what he's saying there. Shipping a couple decks out to other collectors sometimes takes me weeks because I come home and all I want to do is relax. I appreciate others who can be patient and understand my predicament even though it can easily be seen as an excuse. There's a lot of habits there that can be unpacked and explored, but I have compassion for his experience as a result.

Great points all around. I suppose there's varying degrees of how relaxation manifests and how avoidant we all can be with different stressors. I could be more forgiving and understanding than others might.

Greece is obviously a very hard working country with all the printers etc working on weekends. Even if they weren't it would be a bit much to expect Lotrek to do any work on the weekend and catch up on posting updates

As a manager that has to supervise people, I can tell you that it can be mentally very exhausting to supervise folks. Even more exhausting than doing it by yourself.
I can also imagine that the delays and f**k-ups put Lotrék himself in a mental downward spiral. This whole Patreon thing turned out to be neither for him nor for his patreons a good thing.

I think Lotrek uses Patreon as his innovation lab where he's constantly tinkering with new methods, and like he said, he's a perfectionist. I appreciate his dedication to his craft. I see a lot of people calling BS on his lack of communication, but I think he is being sincere (regardless of him right or wrong).

At this point, im getting a bit tired of people rehashing the same complaints over and over again. Yes, we are putting money in this, and it is rightfully frustrating. But I would rather wait an indefinite amount of time for a masterpiece than rush for something half baked. Plus he's always sending free decks while we wait. Im not some diehard Lotrek apologist. He's not even my favorite designer lol. I think folks either need to cancel their subscription and wait for their rewards, or keep supporting and take the man for who is he and not who we want him to be. Im not saying we shouldn't keep him accountable for poor communication.
