Unknown Chinese (?) deck

Unread post by redux »

Paid 3€ for this interesting and beautiful deck. The seller said it's from 60s or 70s and what I understand is of Chinese origin. It's a pity I can't read Chinese - anybody here that can?

Awesome find. I'm going to call the police on you though! 3€ is a steal for this!!!
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

The joker on the left has “大陆”(mainland) written in the upper left corner, the joker on the right has “蜻蜓扑克”(dragonfly playing card)written in the middle, and the name of the production factory is written below, "上海大陆橡皮印刷厂"(Shanghai Continental Rubber Printing Factory),I looked it up and the factory no longer exists. The court is the character of traditional Chinese Peking Opera, which can refer to the After Sound Playing Cards by ARK. Ace is the Chinese traditional four gentlemen“梅兰竹菊”, Plum Blossom , orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum, usually used to represent a person's good character, Tally-ho last year also released four pairs with this theme.
