I like the look of these, but this is a first time project and a very very low goal Also it's being printed with QPMN who I've never heard of.

Here's a link to the creators Instagram account though. https://www.instagram.com/silentspeakerstudio/

I just did some research. The QPMN itself has quite a lot of bad comments in their last project :
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/qp ... s/comments

And they never replied, some of the backers still haven't received the deck.

That one's extra sketchy. If you read the campaign, he was only using QPMN as the printer. But used their name for the Kickstarter account he created. Doesn't look the company itself was actually involved.

I think Po is only the designer. But QPMN was still involved in the whole project. Based on they opened a new website just for him
螢幕擷取畫面 2024-04-16 112848.png
And the website was gone after he finished the Kickstarter. Even though he is not part of QPMN, they do have some close connections.

Hmmm...another Hong Kong-themed deck using the same printer? And a first -time creator with 0 KS backed. I'm not intimating anything, but I am wary. I do like the backs of this one better than the Hong Kong Machines deck, although I prefer the custom pips and color of the Machine deck better. Both campaigns are by new KS users with no KS ethos behind them. :|

Decisions, decisions...maybe I won't get either and wait for secondary market as a gurantee that they both actually get made? But if they're doing print-on-demand...

Heh, is this a "you should've kept it in the drafts" moment, or does anyone else have the same internal monologue that I do?
I'm not as interesting as I think I am.

from QPMN ks profile:

“QP Market Network (QPMN) is a platform where designers and e-shops collaborate to provide a next-generation print-on-demand (POD) drop-ship service to end customers. Through our designer plugins, we enable traditional e-shops to offer fully customizable products with featured structures, premium materials, and printing quality.“

I like makeplayingcards - great place to do just that. As for a “market network” run by their parent - not sure I’m a fan of it from what I’ve seen - had these cards grabbed me a bit more I would have to get to the bottom of it now…

As for internal monologue in posts - I have managed to debate myself blue in the face more than once…

Ah, but the Asian in me says I want to grab these decks. Too bad you don't feel the same because I'm willing to bet your "getting to the bottom of it" would've been thorough and enlightening and perhaps convincing to get me to not want these.

I like MPC too. Made tons of oracle and tarot decks through them, so I'm not concerned about the printing. I'm concerned about the art being complete and it actually being printed since the creators are newbies. If push came to shove, I'd want them to at least upload to MPC so we can buy it straight from there ourselves.

Debaters, unite!

They almost had me - and campaign isn’t over yet, I have been known to take one too many looks and get sucked in…

At this point I have to play jenga whenever I add a deck to the collection - would have been an easy grab a couple years back..

Place is so full of decks I have to go outside to tear off the cellophane.

Being of Asian descent, I have a strong affinity for Hong Kong-themed or other Eastern-inspired topics, as opposed to the usual Eastern myths. For instance, I'm a huge fan of Sushi Cat, 百鬼夜行 Hyakki Yagyō, Akita, Samurai Otter, and ONSEN NEKO. There's something about these designs that makes them feel more reliable & trustworthly, and you can truly sense the creators' genuine passion for the project. In comparison, the current campaign falls short of capturing that same level of trust and enthusiasm for me.

Ah, you and I have the same Asian-themed collection! I did pass on Samurai Otter even though I adore otters because I’m trying to practice discernment, and snapping up every hotness was what got me into a pickle with my tarot collection; I swore I wouldn’t do that with my playing card collection. So I guess I’ve answered my own question and am backing away slowly from both this one and Machine. After all, my Nazo Nazo set is incoming, eh Gandalf? 😜

The moment P52 shut down, I was genuinely terrified. So you can imagine my relief when I discovered it's back online again. It's a platform I truly value.

In my opinion, Room One & Bloom is an unstoppable force that demands attention. Recently, I backed their Kickstarter for Godzilla x Kong, solely supporting Godzilla as I'm not particularly fond of Kong. Their projects consistently captivate me.

Hello fellow UC members, I am the creator of this deck, Kelvin Chung.

I am definitely new to the community, KS and card making so please forgive me if I sounds stupid to you.

It’s my first time collaborating with QPMN, or MPC so believe me I got same amount of questions in my head haha.

But so far I am feeling confident with their service, have been visiting their office multiple times, talking with the managers and staffs and so on.

Being an artist and company owner, this first KS project/deck is just like my first born 👶. I may not have the deep knowledge and experience as you guys in this field, but one thing I can guaranteed is my passion in my artworks.

Please ask me anything, I am more than happy to answer.

Edit : To clarify, I have contacted QPMN today and confirmed that MPC is not involved in this collaboration, solely with QPMN. We will work together to ensure the fulfilment process goes as smooth as silk.

Hey everyone! QPMN is here, just popping in to clear up a few things about the previous Maze War project.
We care about fulfillment, and we take it seriously. We have worked closely with the Maze War project owner and reached out to every backer last year to arrange shipping. We've also been consistently responding to direct messages and helping to ensure smooth product delivery.
Thanks for allowing us to clear things up and set the record straight.

Btw thanks for letting us know there are some concerns about QPMN business, and hope that clears things up!

What association does the company have with MPC? Also, if you reached out to every backer on the Maze project, why is it that the comments on that project don't reflect that at all?

It's great to hear that you're interested in our brand and business! QPMN is a part of the QP Group, for more details, you can check out the QP website at https://www.qpp.com/en/online-business. Hopefully, that will help address any concerns you may have.

For the Maze War project, we chose to use direct messages to protect everyone's privacy instead of public comments on the Kickstarter page. If you're one of our backers and didn't receive a message, please reach out to us, and we'll do our absolute best to assist you. Btw, we'll definitely update the Kickstarter updates to make sure that everyone is on the same page and has a clear understanding of our arrangement.

Thanks for your support, and we're here to help however we can!

Thanks for your support, and we're here to help however we can!
Can you please explain if that means everything from this so-called "QPMN" is of the same quality as MPC? Like the stocks, printer and finishes. MPC always replies to all their comments from previous projects.I totally agree with Adamthinks that It's not really that difficult to respond to a comment with something like "Let's chat privately." Neglecting to do so really gives off a bad impression to people who see it.
