What does it mean? Does it mean she decided to end card projects completely? Or does it mean she is going to be active again but under a different name, like e.g. Riccardo did? I very much hope for the later since her illustration skills are awesome.

A New Chapter Begins

After much consideration, I have decided to discontinue my activities under the name of Bona fide Playing Cards and go on an indefinite hiatus. I started this journey 9 years ago with a small team that has since moved on, inspired by the idea of creating unique designs, sharing my vision with others, and growing as an artist. Your continued support over the years has led to amazing experiences and invaluable lessons. However, like any journey, this one must also come to an end. My personal and professional circumstances have changed drastically over the past few years, and I feel that it's time to turn the page.

Current Series

Currently, there are two unfinished series: the Chess-inspired playing cards (of which King's Game is a part) and the Literary Classics-inspired playing cards (which The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers are part of). Although all activities under Bona fide Playing Cards will be discontinued and I will be taking an indefinite hiatus, I am committed to finishing both of these series at some point. At the moment, I am unable to share further information as nothing has been finalized, but I can confirm that both series will be completed.

Staying Connected Through Collaborations

While stepping away from Bona fide Playing Cards, I may consider embracing different artistic projects and collaborations when the time is right, to continue exploring my passion in various forms. Finally, I get to see the works that captivated collectors years ago

I am thinking about them but I much prefer what is called the original Black version - confusing in that the cards are white stock (the black refers to the tucks)
You would think that one should still be able to source one of these from someone as these were not limited to 500 (now 1,000 - read on) like the White version

This Apex version is the 500 extra foiled back White version (Tuck) with black stock that were printed at the time of the originals because there was a 1,000 min run for foiled backs (read pg1 of this thread)
After sitting in a warehouse for years they have now been boxed up in what appears to be a silvery tuck which distinguishes them from the original 'Whites' but the deck is identical to the original white tuck version. So if you have the original White tucks you do not need these Apexs unless you are a tuckist or a completionist

Naturally the Courts are still a mix of one way and two way, which troubles me. I sort of get the explanation why but as the designer was selling cards not chess sets, I think he should have kept them uniform
