Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I'm going to indulge in another little vent. I just read the patron pre-sale email and I realize that this whole thing has me a bit salty. This sounds like the kind of release I thought I could look forward to when I joined the Patreon in Year 1. I personally dont have any of his OG decks with the bling and was looking forward to drops like these. But..REALLY!?!
We still dont know when Year 1 will be delivered, let alone 2 & 3. But somehow he will be able to deliver something in 2 months that allegedly has serious "wow!" potential, but he cant deliver year 1 over 2 YEARS after that cycle ended? How?!?
I went back to look at the last post regarding the reprint of Y1 patrons - back in Sept 2023. He stated in that post that the previous attempt took about 10 days and he thought the reprint would take about as long. We are now almost 5 months since that post, and while yes, there have been some progress updates, I presume they are still not finished. I also presume these are not as complex as what he is teasing for Mystery 3. I know he said he juggles multiple suppliers, but still...
Why in the world is he pre-selling a new deck to Patrons and the old stuff still hasn't been delivered? None of it. Not one (and no, I don't count the Redemptions) Will these become yet another distraction if they too have production issues?
As much as I would love to get one of these, I just can't on principle alone. It's just not right to do this when you haven't made good on your previous commitments. Years old commitments...
OK. vent over.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Heard you can also get one after he fulfils delivery but price will be more . 697 decks I doubt how many will sell . Paying extra but knowing what you are getting sounds like a safer route but the Mystery element goes away . Idk why Lotrek needs to do a sale after fulfilling, I thought all his Past Mystery decks were pre order only and only for risk takers , once closed no more sold . It will suck incase the decks go on for Sale like Sanctus with such high print run.

As Steampunk said, this was the kind of release I was hoping for when I joined his Patron also.
I think what annoys me the most is that as a Patron I don't feel I'm getting anything "new", just blinged up versions of pre-existing decks.
Maybe if the player's editions were released after Patrons got their rewards then I would feel differently.
As I've also said previously, If the foiled versions are so difficult to produce why not use the player's editions as Patron rewards.
He's shown he can produce several decks within the 12 month time frame, for example this Mystery deck, along with the 2 Sanctissumus decks and Oath Experimental (Redemption VII) could easily have been this year's rewards - Job done.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to receiving my blinged up versions and the continuation of the free redemption decks but like others have said I just wish he would fulfil Patron rewards before offering anything new.
Anyway rant over, still undecided if I'm picking up any of the mystery decks later

Forgive me if I’m misreading this but isn’t “697 maximum print run” tied to the sales? I mean if only 250 people preorder it, won’t the print run be 250? (or 300ish so he can have a little extra stock)

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
As a....well I guess Im a year 4 patron who donated a few extra months for no good reason in the end...I get it.
The only thing hes said hes working on actively is the year1 patrons deck (and the black deck) and that...leaves a lot of very complex decks that need doing that surely this deck is taking the place of.
Hes framed it as a "cant concentrate until I get this done" but "SQUIRREL!" really isn't an excuse.
I'll get the deck anyway but...I understand.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Ehh, that's somewhat debatable. Maaybe not quite as intricately foiled, but there have been quite a few very very blingy decks that have been produced. And even more decks/projects that have been experimental and/or extremely complicated. S17 and Ark among others certainly have delivered some remarkably complex and forward pushing projects for example. Regardless of that though, Lotrek seems to have drastically decreased his output of the type of deck he used to deliver ever since the Patreon started. That's very notable, and there doesn't seem to be a reasonable explanation for this being offered by him. Issues printing Royal Silk shouldn't have created delays of over 2 years. That just doesn't make sense. And the first year rewards STILL haven't been delivered. Supposedly they should already be done. And instead of focusing on that, he's releasing a different deck, with hints that it's as special as anything he's ever done. And he hasn't started printing on it because he needs these new funds in advance, but will somehow be delivered in 2 months despite all currently queued up projects being delayed YEARS. I'm only a Patron at the base level so that I can purchase Patron releases, so I'm not out at all for the delayed decks or upset at all, but this still seem like madness to me. I like his work, but damn dude, what the heck is going on over there...GandalfPC wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 10:58 amAdamthinks wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 10:32 am So, Lotrek has built his reputation on his super blinged out decks. But was Crypt 4 years ago the last one of that sort that he's delivered? Am I forgetting one?
Not one that I can think of, though he does seem to be promising this is one - and we do of course hope that all the patreon decks are of similar bling bent.
But I have also noticed that no one else has produced one since either - due to the difficulties in making such a thing

I dont think all 500 dropped today as he clearly mentioned about public sale. I feel there is a reserve

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Thats a very fast sale ! I believe there is a reserve for public , if you are a Patron and order from there you can most likely DM lotrek and he will refund the extra amount, Lotrek is very cooperative I feel as long as he respondsPiazzaDelivery wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 5:56 pm Well I guess that solves the dilemma for me. Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Also just my theory if 500 decks get sold and there is demand , Lotrek might drop the next 197 decks too , doesn’t make sense to keep them while there is demand , better business strategy will be release the lot

Well, when I checked the time zones it said it would start at 5PM CST. I just checked and it says sold out and others have posted that they are also showing sold out. This is odd.

Yes, it was 5pm EST. I always struggle with the conversions because of daylight savings time. So, I always google "10 pm UTC to my time" and let Google figure it out for me.

Argh. Some of us work for a living...and get confused evidently...
That is why I hate limited releases. Oh well, I guess I save some money and get the Year 3 Patron version.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I would hope Lotrek considers selling some of the 197 slated for public release to his patrons. They're the ones who have been supporting him every month and should get a chance to purchase at least one.
He's had stricter limits placed on his Redemption decks, for example. I wonder if anyone bought a brick.

He's already released the lion's share to patrons; it would hardly be fair to the rest of us if he released more and cut down what is available to us.
